Apocalypse: Enslaved

"Are you serious? You havn't even told me your name, and you want... Don't tempt me, please." She smiled as he moved away from her before looking back smiling.

"My name is Jenny. And I miss being around people. It gets lonely sometimes on your own. I haven't really talked to anyone in a long time," she said sadly. She had always traveled alone, but she missed having someone by her side.

"We've got time... Lets eat." He said as he nodded his head toward the food. "You can have as much as you like." She picked up a plate and sat beside him, smiling. She ate a bite and smild. "Are you going to have any? It's really good."

He looked at the food then looked at how skinny Jenny was and smiled softly. "I will, but... I would like to see you have your fill first... Jenny." He admired the nonchalant way she took to eating. It indicated that she finally trusted him, and no longer felt in danger. It made him feel good. He clapped his hands on his knees and got up with a sigh as he went to listen at the door for a moment. He was still worried, his mind still racing over every little thing that could go wrong and turn this situation bad in a heart beat as he ran his fingers through his brown hair, peppered with grey from all the worry he'd endured over the years.

"I'm going to be straight with you Jenny... Yeah, we did good just now, convincing them that I had things handled. Thank you for that." He paced back and forth in front of the door. "You saved my life as well as your own. But I've been feeling a growing suspicion from my men. Its only a matter of time before they try something... And quite frankly... Heh... I don't know what the fuck to do." He sat on edge of the bed, with his back to her. He drew one arm across his chest and propped his elbow on it while biting at his thumb nail in thought, shaking his head. "I've gotta get out of here... Before its too late."

"I will, but... I would like to see you have your fill first... Jenny." She smiled and rested her head on him as she ate. It tasted wonderful, hot and delicious. She watched as he stood and walked to the door obiously worried about something. She finished her food and walked over to him concerned. "Is everything alright?"

Heh... I don't know what the fuck to do. I've gotta get out of here... Before its too late."

"Before nightfall? It's getting close to sundown," she said peeking out the small window that let a little light in. "Any ways out of here that don't lead us through the front door?"

"From here? Just this stupid window, and the fire escape makes a hell of alot of noise, someone would hear. Oh, and the ladder is really rickety, I wouldn't trust it to bear my weight..." He looked her over again. "Chances are it would be able to hold for you though." He said with a slight smile. "Anyway, they'd come after us, no matter what we do... A woman, the way things are now..." Jake shook his head, trying not to relect on the things he'd seen, the things he'd done. "I'd rather just blow this damn place up, then keep looking over my shoulder for the rest of my life, however long that is." He said coldly.

She nodded deep in thought. They had to do something. If Jake was right, he could die and she would be stuck as a slave in this awful place. "Do you have any weapons in here? Are you a good shot? Because I think I have a way to get out of here." She paused.

"Have you ever killed someone? Because this won't work if you can't pull the trigger and shoot them in the head. I know I can do it, but can you? If you haven't, it's not fun. At least there aren't as many consequences now though."

She listened for anyone outside of the door. Didn't seem like anyone was there. "If we can't sneak out, we may have to fight our way out. It might be our only chance to survive."

"Heh! ...Yeah, I've killed, darlin. All I've got up here is my tranq gun. I'm a decent enough shot, I got you, didn't I?" He said with a roguish grin. Trouble is, the men down there, they're all killers too, as bad, or worse then me. Some of them fuckers are down right psycho. I mean, fall on your blade, and push themselves into it, just to eat your face, psycho, sweetheart. Twenty men, darlin... At least. Still think you can handle that?" He was being pessemistic, but honest, and there was a wild glimmer of hope in his eyes that she'd say yes. "Fuck it, live or die in the next few minutes, I'm sick of living with a bunch of rabid dogs. I'm ready, I've got your back, darlin!"

"Heh! ...Yeah, I've killed, darlin. All I've got up here is my tranq gun. I'm a decent enough shot, I got you, didn't I?" Jenny smiled back at him. "Trouble is, the men down there, they're all killers too, as bad, or worse then me. Some of them fuckers are down right psycho. I mean, fall on your blade, and push themselves into it, just to eat your face, psycho, sweetheart." Her eyes grew wide, knowing they were more dangerous than anyone she'd dealt with as a cop. "Twenty men, darlin... At least. Still think you can handle that?"*

"Won't be my first kill and probably not my last. If you're ready to do it, then I am too."

"Fuck it, live or die in the next few minutes, I'm sick of living with a bunch of rabid dogs. I'm ready, I've got your back, darlin!"

"How many shots have you got in that tranquilizer?"
