Are you ashamed yet to be a Republican?

It's true, Right Wingers have no use in today's world. It's like the United States is the last refuge for these clowns or something. Or maybe we're, like, a quarantine zone?
Come now, LT, we're not the only state with conservatives. There are quite a few in Saudi Arabia and Iran.

I, too, wonder where we'd be without Republicans.

If I could time travel, I'd go back 140 years and ask.

What do you think they'd say?

They'd say, "We hate those fucking conservatives, too!"

Those were some cool Pubs.

Right-wing is a matter of perspective, though. Someone is always more conservative than someone else. I'm no friend of the Right, however. Nor of the Left. I don't trust politicians in general. I'm completely cynical these days.

That could be taken a couple of a different ways. I'll take it that you were drinking cola and not doing a personal tribute to Dubya's favorite pastime in the 70s and 80s.

Yes, even I would be considered conservative by some. But if we look objectively at the politics and politicians in current day America we can see a left side, a middle and a right side.

Except that like in France, the center isn't really represented. Not seriously represented. Where's Ross Perot when you need him? Or even Donald Trump? He's not that right-wing anymore.

My politics are in confusion right now. Honestly in a state of transition. But I want 3 choices, not just two. After all, competition is a central part of the free market, right? :D

Actually, only men with land could vote back when America was started. And even as late as 140 years ago, Conservatives supported slavery.

It looks like JackAssJim, Ham Murabi and Vetteman had better consider suicide as an option, and soon. :)

Bush's approval rate falls to 28 percent: report

Sun May 6, 11:50 AM ET

President George W. Bush's approval rating has fallen to 28 percent in a Newsweek Poll released on Saturday, an all-time low for Bush in that survey.

Nearly two out of three Americans -- 62 percent -- believe Bush's recent actions in Iraq show he is "stubborn and unwilling to admit his mistakes," Newsweek reported. Just 30 percent think Bush's execution of the Iraq war demonstrates he is "willing to take political risks" to do what's right.

Bush's unpopularity may also be casting a dark shadow over Republican chances for keeping the White House in 2008. Democratic front-runners lead potential Republican contenders in head-to-head match-ups across the board, the poll suggests.

Illinois Sen. Barack Obama (news, bio, voting record) fares best against the lead Republicans so far in the race. Obama bested Republican front-runner and former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani by 50 percent to 43 percent among registered voters who responded to the poll.

Obama topped Arizona Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record) by 52 percent to 39 percent and defeated former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney by 58 percent to 29 percent, Newsweek reported.

New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, the front-runner among Democratic voters, topped Giuliani by 49 percent to 46 percent, beat out McCain 50 percent to 44 percent and outdistanced Romney 57 percent to 35 percent, the poll found.

Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards topped Giuliani by 6 points, McCain by 10 and Romney by 37 points in the poll.

The poll, conducted by Princeton Survey Research Associates International on Wednesday and Thursday, interviewed 1,001 adults 18 and older. It had a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

Less people identify themselves as "Republican" than ever before.

I'd say those that are still proud of the Republican party would cheer on a train wreck.. Oh, wait...

Boy, I'm glad I jumped off the Republican train in 2003.

You know, it feels like forever, but I've only really been a Democrat for almost 4 years. When the Nazi banner is burnt off the Republican party HQ I might consider returning when the Democrats run out of control...

By which party? The Democrats care only for the Left and the GOP only for the Right. Where is the Reform Party these days? It seems to have ceased to exist.

You used to be a Republican? Damn, I am surprised!

By both the Republicans and the Democrats. Hence, swing states.

Hey, I believe people should work. Not have their jobs sent overseas. I believe in America first; the UN and the whole global thing is for the uberlefties. And, strangely enough, for the moneychangers who don't care about this country anyway.

Given how much the major parties scurry to cater to their bases, I wonder. I would like to see a party whose base is the center.

I'm sick of all of them. Bunch of blowhards.
I don't see anyone with anything new or interesting to say.
Well - except maybe Dennis Kucinich...

I would be interested to see Ron Paul run. He seems to have some kind of principles, even if I don't agree with his religion. He seems to be more libertarian than social conservative. I am just not sure what I think of the Libertarians in general.

He voted in favor of a bill outlawing offshoring in Government contracts. He was the ONLY person to vote against the USAPATRIOT Act.

That made him my favorite Congressman of all right there.

The problems with politicians is - those who SHOULD run never do. They're too smart.

At this point I am ashamed to be in a political system that still acknowledges Republican candidates :x. Not really, but at least the Bushier side of things.
