It's called a "digraph" or a e ligature. Try alt145 for lower case, alt146 for upper.

You can also bring up the character map program and select the character from those shown.

It also gives you the alt # for future use. Also don't forget to hold he alt key down while you press each of the other numbers.

Or bring up your word processing system, pull down the "insert symbol," find what you're looking for, click on it, and then cut and paste it into the forum post. I admit that's what I do rather than trying to remember what key stroke goes with what rarely used character.

I do that sometimes, but it can be easier to google and C&P than to find it in "insert symbol".

Hmm, the modern thorn doesn't look very Y-ish.
