On Memorial Day, we will again have the opportunity to feel and express a special appreciation for all those who have served faithfully in the Armed Forces of our Country. Millions have performed duties to keep our country free, to retain justice and help bring about peace throughout the world.
Some of our Veterans came home to try and start their lives over with some normalacy. Some came back wounded either in body or mind. Some, however never came home. America would not be what She is today without our vetrans sacrafices.
If you know a veteran on line, drop them a mail thanking them for their service. And PLEASE if you know a spouse of a veteran, thank them too. Their sacrafice is often just as great as the Veterans sacrafice.
And don’t forget to thank any of our allies that you know. Many Aussies, Brits, Canucks and others fought and died alongside “our” troops.
To those who have served, and to those that are now serving in the Armed Forces of our country, I say to you THANKS, and may God bless you and yours, and may God bless America.

Thank you Budman. I was touched by your email, and wanted to acknowledge it publicly. You're very kind.

And for those of you I know personally, even if not all that well, a big Thank You.

You guys are never far from my thoughts.

YOU ARE SO RIGHT, BUD

And let me please remind everyone, this was one of the time of years that I hated working when I was on the force because I knew that they were going to over work us for one major factor.
So I'll warn you all, the cops will be on huge force this three day weekend. So please, DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!
I'm sure that we would not like to have to remember anyone of us on Memorial Day, 2002.

damn good advice GuyJD. I do my drinking at home. never get behind the wheel if i have more than one bud. Have a safe weekend all.

I second both the main point of remembering those who served, and the secondary point of holiday safety.

Budman covered the main point eloquently, but the holiday safety point needs to be stressed more.

Don't drink/dope/or cell-phone and drive! It can't be stressed enough.

Even if you stay stone cold sober, don't think you're safe on the roads. Wear your seatbelts and drive defensively!

As I tell people when I ask the to buckle up, "I'm not planning on having an accident, but I can't say the same for the rest of the nuts on the road."

I agree and applaud all the comments so far on this thread. Many thank yous to those who have served our country and their families. You deserve every ounce of respect and honor that we can provide. And thank you for the reminder to pass on those thanks to our online and offline friends and families.

Also thank you for the reminders and caring about our safety. I agree wholeheartedly.
