ASMR and BDSM

sorry

Sounds like you don't have this special weird phenomena. And I can't explain it either.

I have heard people have managed to cultivate it, but that sounds like work to me.

I suppose seeing as no one else I know has this, or has brought it up, that it is fairly rare.

And if I understood it, I would gladly share my knowledge. It feels amazing.

If you don't have it, I think it would be impossible to create. Simply flipping through the pages in a book can trigger these tingles. Then other days, nothing sparks them.

Wish I could help you more, DVS. It is an odd thing

I am hoping to find just the right connection between bdsm and asmr, but I imagine such a domme will be elusive, seeing as it is near impossible to explain to those who don't have it.

It is possible that you are describing something else. ASMR is generally a very pleasant sensation. Not really itchy, although maybe sometimes.

People who have it seem to identify pretty quickly with it when described.

I have been triggered by a certain salesman doing his pitch. It was unexpected and when I came to the convention the following year, I sought him out. He was selling video lights well beyond my capacity to afford. This was before I learnt that there were other people had described it. Most of us don't seem to have mentioned it prior to 2006 or somewhere in there.

I don't know. Maybe it's something else. But at least I've always described it the same way you did: tingly feeling that starts from the scalp, then runs down, usually to my arms but sometimes also down to my buttocks. I used to get it always when I did relaxation exercises in school with my PE teacher. Her normal speaking voice didn't do anything, but when she went into that relaxation mode and started speaking softer, I used to get the tingles. There have been a few other people I've met with the same effect. I also checked a couple of ASMR videos on YouTube yesterday and one woman's voice had the same effect in two videos, but not in all of hers that I (partially) checked out.

To me, if I'm trying to relax or fall asleep the tingle feels uncomfortable, like I have to move my arms to make it go away, or scratch my head, apply pressure or something. I like the "warmth" that I feel after the tingle, but the tingle itself always snaps me out of the zen mode.

I think it feels uncomfortable when I don't want the feeling, if that makes any sense?
Like if someone I'm uncomfortable with has that kind of voice.
People lipsmacking when they are eating or talking make me want to slap them.

That makes sense. Maybe I'll have to try an embrace the feeling and see if I can learn to enjoy it now that I found a couple of videos that seem to trigger the tingle. If it is the same tingle you (general you) are talking about. :)

Well, good tingles are good and bad tingles are bad, whatever they are called, right? :)

Good to finally find out the name for that. I get it occasionally, but I know a few people who get it way more severely - and interestingly - than I do.

I thiiiink I get this?

So far only from massages and yoga class instructors talking. (It's why I don't care about doing yoga at home. :p)

maybe try this

Hi KoPilot,

Maybe try going to an ASMR channel on youtube. The ones with the highest views are likely the best ones and with the most potential to trigger the tingles in you.

I suspect it is different for everybody though.

If anyone out there knows of any ASMR femdom videos, I'd be most interested. I've found one, but it doesn't really do the trick at all. Perhaps it is impossible, though I think it's worth an experiment or two.

I've seen some popular ones before, and I actually found them to be extremely uncomfortable to listen to. Maybe it's my reaction to an ASMR-response, maybe it's completely different. But it's like... it's almost skin-crawly make-it-stop unpleasant to me.

You actually have a very interesting theory. However, I do not agree with you. BDSM is too much for me, as it is for many people. It's harsh, it's humiliating, it's too much. Whereas ASMR is just pleasant sounds with nothing humiliating or rude about it. ASMR sounds do not make you feel uncomfortable. I work with ASMR sounds, and these two concepts have nothing to do with each other. I record sounds exclusively and do not humiliate this or that person. It is very difficult; you need to choose the best microphone that can transmit sound clearly and without interference. To do this, you must buy the best and most popular microphones. It's good that there are reviews at https://asmrmicrophones.com/reviews that make life easier.
