Exactly that. 'Begging' is just another form of coercion (and, as you note, is also a bit pathetic ... but it obviously works sometimes or otherwise guys wouldn't do it. Because I guess nagging someone into having sex still results in sex. Or something).

I've only sent one random PM, and I was quite polite about it, after admiring someone's poetry.
As others have mentioned, I think since I'm a woman and post (sometimes very honest and sexual things), I get a lot of PMs. They range from "Hey" (which I ignore) to a lengthy diatribe about what they think about one of my posts. I don't mind getting random ones, I've met a couple lovely people that way, but they used words and sentences and were cool.
I think the "I'm looking at your tumblr and stroking" ones make me roll my eyes the most. Like, ok, why should I care if you're stroking? Is that supposed to incite me to thoughts of lust and desire so much that I PM you back begging you to show me?! uh, no. (rolley eyes)
