I don't want to think about what the suites cost then...

While that is certainly very reasonable for a 4 star hotel, that's slap outta my price range. Sorry folks, but that's within paper wad tossing distance of being twice what I'm willing to pay for a single night's accomodation.

Is there a Fairfield or Hampton Inn or a Microtel within hailing distance?

Of course, depending on what the orthopaedist tells us tomorrow, janey and I might not be going anywhere or doing anything except sitting at home or working for the next however long it takes us to pay for/get janey's shoulder fixed... *sighs* I hate rotator cuff injuries. Damn stubborn girl wouldn't get it treated earlier, kept telling me it was all right and Sunday she did something to it where she can't lift her arm up anymore. If we're lucky, immobilization and then rehab. If not, we're looking at major shoulder surgery and that don't come cheap.

Anyway, no need for y'all to get overly worried, if there is any way at all we can make it, we will be there. Even if we have to find a Motel6.

You know, I've worked in many a hotel, and done so as hotel security (yes, that means I was a Hotel Dick), and I honestly would not have a lick of trouble with loud whacks, so long as they weren't accompanied by loud moaning, screaming, crying, etc.

And I can't tell you how many times a noisy room door was opened by a woman in some state of obvious wardrobe malfunction.

Yeah that's a bit pricey. I would pay that for a family trip or a romantic one but by myself it seems a bit much. Man it would be cool if someone else were driving around town. Then I could have a drink, relax . . . Hmm.

You'd done a fantastic job in all this. I just want to say that and how much I appreciate it.

As someone who organizes meetings constantly but who doesn't have a lot of money I just need to say that my only concern with all this is that you don't get stuck holding the bag on the financial hook.

Lots of folks have said they will come or they might come but if you need people to chip in on a suite and they or enough of them don't come that could be rough for you. I don't want to see you in that position unless you can afford it and are willing to accept that risk.

Seriously, my plan for this was to either split the cost of the room between all the attenders (play and non-play alike) or to absorb the price myself since my friend *might* be able comp the room all together (less taxes and fees)

Alright, folks. Now that we've had a few days to let the tentative schedule sink in, how does everyone feel about it all? Any one of the idea or impression they won't enjoy the events or be able to join us? Is there anyway we can get another tentative show of hands as to who all is planning on attending? I would like to have a good idea of how many of us are planning on coming out so I can determine if we need to adjust the schedule or plan. I know some of you are holding out to know for sure until a closer date, and that is fine, just go ahead and count yourself as in for now. You can always drop out later. If any of you have any suggestions or ideas, please feel free to let me know what you all would like to do.

I am totally looking forward to meeting all of you. Let the countdown begin!!

Kitty and I are planning on attending Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, but it'll depend on the financial situation at the time. We'll know for sure closer to time, but our tentative plans are to try to attend it all.

Currently janey and I are looking at possibly arriving late Friday night (we don't get off work until 6:00pm and it's a 3.5 hour drive minimum) or perhaps early Saturday morning. Would be staying through mid day to mid afternoon Sunday for sure.

Of course, those plans are tentative, depending on how much I can force myself to work and how much money I can put together toward the move I need to make. But at this point...
