Thought I'd nudge this thread forward and ask a question.

For those of us coming in from out of town, has anybody thought of a hotel we could use? It might be nice if we all could stay at the same place, don't you think?:p

I will search for the best rates, but the Super8 comes to mind.
 
Earlier, I saw mentions of staying in Marietta. Are you still talking about staying in Marietta? Or am I totally confused?

The other thing I was thinking of is we might want to reserve a conference room in the hotel so we'll have a place to gather besides the restaurant.

I've eaten at Pricci; it was fabulous. Thats the only restuarant on the list that I know. I don't have a real preference for where we eat, though. I have an adventurous soul.
 
As y'all think about a restaurant for one of the gatherings, let me recommend Fogo De Chao. It's in Buckhead on Piedmont Road, directly across the street from the Fish Market Restaurant.

It's a Brazilian style churascaria. It's a bit pricey, but definately worth the experience. Besides, where else in Atlanta can you get a "genuine" caiparina?

Unfortunately, pricey is an issue for many of us. I mentioned this earlier. Money is tight for me, as it is for a few others I know that are coming.

Marietta came up first because when we planned this, I was discussing staying with my sister, and Marietta was just a meeting point.
I'm no longer doing that. I can stay wherever we choose, as long as I can actually FIND it. lol ;)

Maybe sharing a room or a place. With any luck, I can get us a place to stay by the lake (Lake Allatoona) for free. I'll let you all know on the progress on that.

That would be wonderful but I have to ask....... do you know everyone in Atlanta?

I've been gone from there for over 10 yrs so I'm way out of the loop. It is so wonderful to have someone who is there and knows these things.

Damn, I wish I could come. But I'm tied down for the rest of the month doing the bidding of my Lords & Masters in the NorthEast. God working for a living sucks!

Wow, there seems to be sincere interest in attending the Atlanta get together...thats great. I live very close so all I need is the final destination. I am so excited. Even though I really dont know may of you
 
Irish.....I've told you hon, quit bitching and start working. It'll get done, no worries.

Spicecajun.....iit will be wonderful to most of us to put names to faces, voices to words, and meet some of these people who have become a part of our extended family. As plans solidify we will let everyone know.

As for the restaurant, I would think the best bet would be a comfortable place that won't mind to much if we get a wee bit happy, that isn't going to stare if we stay more than 45 minutes and has reasonable prices. For that matter we could get pizza delivered to the conference room of the hotel and have one hell of a picnic. I'm pretty easy going on most things.

BlackSnake..the motel idea sounds fantastic. And I'm with GeorgiaGirl on this....where we get together needs to be a casual place, that doesn't mind us getting "happy" and loud.
 
Damn I just got back from Georgia...I would so go for this if only I drove :(

I use to live in Marietta, and my mother lives in Cartersville (Where I just got back from) Hell I was just in Marietta Monday....
