Is the plan to meet in the restaurant at the Doubletree Guest Suites on Peachtree-Dunwoody road at 9 AM Saturday? Is there anything organized for a get-together on Friday night?

Nothing has been organised so far. I think we will be getting there at different times based on travel. If you want to go out somewhere, I'm sure some of us could be convinced to join you.

I will be there on Friday evening, not sure what time. I have to pick up someone at the airport close to 9 though but for the Atlanta airport that means getting there much earlier.

One...can anyone tell me about what time the traffic starts building up on 285...don't want to be caught in it if I don't have to....I'm coming from Chattanooga area...

Two...are the chances good that I can still get a room when I get there just in case something changes between now and Friday?? or maybe double up with someone?? (if the comfort level is there)

Anyway....just asking!! Looking forward to meetin' ya'll!!

Ahh 285 on the north end. Traffic starts building there about 6 AM. From 10 AM until about 2 PM or so it dies back a bit. On a Friday night it can stay strong until about 7 or 8 PM. Avoid the area like the plauge from about 4PM to 6PM as it is quite nasty at that time. Thankfully most traffic will be headed out from Atlanta. However I assume you will be comming in on 75 and taking 285 over to the hotel. This area between 75 and 85 on 285 is some of the worst traffic in Atlanta.

I'm 2 hours away - it's sounds fun - but I just got back from ditching the husband/kids for a weekend in Hilton Head w/girlfriends, so I'm not sure if I can get away again (laundry piled up).

VBG, I'm clueless about what will actually go on, but I'm going. I'm sure at least some of us will be going out on Fri. night. We will be getting together on Sat. morning at 9am. The rest of the day is open. Probably will go out to a restaurant Sat evening. I think it will be general mingling and meeting people we've talked to or seen online.
