Why is it that gay men are always so cool?

I would read your story, stranger.

morbid desire for the unattainable? Just a guess. I'm not sure that works the other way though. I don't think you hear too many guys saying "why is it that lesbians are always so cool?" I know i don't.

I don't think it's morbid desire for the unattainable. Women just want someone that "understands" how they feel, and somehow gay men come across as being more feminine. This isn't always true, but it is sometimes, and those times the men are awsome to have around.

Here where I live we have a lot of gay/lesbian/bi folk, such as myself, and I have occassionally heard a friend of mine talking about wanting lesbians. Not in the same way that straight women always talk about gay men, but lesbian's aren't exactly undesireable.

usually, when guys talk about "wanting lesbians" they mean they want to see two gorgeous women have sex with each other so they can get lost in the middle somewhere. That's a lot different from "wanting someone that 'understands' how they feel. (please forgive me for rolling my eyes when i first read that one. just couldn't help it). I think a more common parallel to what you're talking about is guys looking for the proverbial "tomboy in lace," that sinatra sang about. The beautiful woman who's not too dainty to enjoy some of the things the guys love but who still carries herself like the ideal lady when the time comes -- and, of course, becomes a sexual dynamo in bed but only for him!

anyway, this is all just my opinion, i don't have any facts to back this up, other than the huge popularity of lipstick lesbians in popular culture.:p
