"I don't want to talk about it, I never told you that. Don't assume you know everything." She said trying not to cry. "I just don't got home, there isn't a reason to. That's it..."

Craig drops the topic. And wraps his arm around Lilly, pulling her closer to him. "It's just I know so little about you. A lot of time that I spent with you...you were in character."

He continues. "I love you. When you are ready, I will be here to listen...encourage...and love you even more."

"Do you think we jumped into this relationship too soon?" She asked looking over at him "we don't enough about each other. Maybe we need to slow things down?"

Craig pulls off on the side of the road. He takes both of her hands in his. "Like I said. I love you. You are exactly what I am looking for in a woman."

He continues. "I like the man you pull out in me."

"If you are wanting to end things, do it before I get too far invested."

She couldn't help but cry, she felt awful "that wasn't what I was saying. You were the one who said you don't know me. How can you love me if you really know nothing about me."

"I don't know you as well as I would like." Craig responded. "You are an enigma that is certainly worth discovering."

He leans in and kisses her. Breaking the emblazoned kiss, Craig reaches to start the car again. Nothing. Sighing audibly, he pops the hood to look inside.

After a few tries, Craig pushes as Lilly steers it off the highway and onto a side street. "I saw a mechanic and hotel the last town. It can't be more than a few miles."

"This can't seriously be happening." She said grabbing her bag and getting out of the car "the car seemed fine." She said as she started to walk. "So what are we going to do? We can't get back in time for classes tomorrow."

Together, Craig and Lilly walked the distance to the small town. After getting settled into the hotel room, he made just one phonecall.

After hanging up, Craig turns his attention to Lilly. "Dad was a mechanic years ago. He will be here first thing in the morning. He said it seemed like a quick fix. We should be on campus by 8...9 at the absolute latest."

"I'm thirsty. I'm going to go get ice and bottled water. Would you like something other than water?"

As much as he would like to watch Lilly get ready for bed, the need for water was of paramount importance.

"Just water is fine." Lilly said as she started to get undressed. After he had had left the room she slipped into her nightgown and laid down on the bed, sighing as she stared at the ceiling. She was still worried that the car wouldn't be fixed in time for them to get back to campus. She had already missed one rehearsal she couldn't miss anymore.

Craig made a few calls to rectify things. He knew that Lilly desperately wanted to get back to campus. This perfect day was coming to a painful end.

He returns with the waters and hands Lilly one. Opting for some nice music instead of TV, Lilly already had a local radio station filling the hotel room. This gave craig a fun idea to help Lilly's smile bring the dayfull circle to a perfect end.

Taking Lilly's hand he helps her out of bed and begins dancing with her. "One thing I never told you. I never went to prom." Craig confessed as they danced through the hotel room. "This is it in a nutshell right? Dancing? Hotel room? All we are missing is a decorated gymnasium!"

Craig looks into Lilly's eyes. "It means a lot that you took the time to know me more." He leans in and kisses his Prom Queen.

"I wouldn't know..." Lilly said "I couldn't go to mine either. I a show the same weekend and I couldn't do both. It wasn't like anyone asked me anyway." She said as she laid her head down to rest on Craig's shoulder. "I missed out on the fancy dress, the dancing, the tacky decor..."

Every young woman should have her prom. Craig knew that given the opportunity, not only would she catch everyone's eye. Lilly was prom queen material.

Lilly would have her prom. Craig filed prom away in his mind.

"I know about being preoccupied and not being able to attend. But as stunning as you are, I find it hard to believe you weren't asked."

Craig leans in to kiss her neck. "Will you go to prom with me?"

"Of course. If I was back in high school I would go to prom with you. Unfortunately that's passed..." She said "it's not like there is another prom we could just go to, we are way too old to be crashing a high school prom"

"You just leave that to me." Craig smiles at Lilly knowingly!

"We've got an early morning tomorrow. Thanks for a perfect day, my love." Craig steps back and starts to undress for bed.

Lilly sat down on the bed and drank some of her water "so do you want to just go to bed?" She asked "or did you want to do something else?"

Craig smiles at the woman of his dreams. "I was going to relax by taking a bath. Would you like to join me?"

"I don't know... I'm still not ready to sleep with you." She said getting up "I guess it couldn't hurt though, it's not like we haven't seen each other naked before."

Craig smiles and takes lilly's hand, escorting her to the bathroom. After turning, on the water he decides to change things a bit and slips the nightgown off his Lilly. Next, he reaches to remove her bra and panties.

Once Lilly is naked, craig drops his hands to his side to allow her to undress him.

Lilly sighed. "I was hoping for romantic not sexy..." She said as she removed his shirt "I still want to take things slow." She said before she finished removing his clothes.

"I was hoping you'd say that." Craig reaches into the bag that previously held the bottles of water. He pulls out 3 small candles and a lighter to light them.

Soon, the only light was a flicker that danced on water and in his Lilly's beautiful eyes.

Craig steps into the water and takes Lilly's hand to invite her in. Slowly Craig lowers into the hot water first...giving Lilly an opportunity to decide if she wants to face him, or lean back against him.

Lilly laid down with her back against him, her head resting on his shoulder. "So you planned this all along? Did you plan the car breaking down as well? Or was that just you getting lucky?"

"The car breaking down was the only bad part of an otherwise perfect day." Craig kisses her neck. "But as they say, when life hands you lemons..."

Craig turns Lilly's head to meet her lips with his.
