I have been blessed with a quick response to submitting new stories. Going new in less than 24 hours, published to the world in less than 48. I had a story recently bounced due to a supposed content violation. I couldn't see what was the offensive language as no detail is given so I took the shotgun approach and changed words that might be a problem for them
. I re-submitted. Shortly thereafter I submitted a new story. Today the new story went 'new'. The resubmitted story is sitting there. Is there a different queue for resubmit?

The bounce message came from a team. Didn't note the names - L & M? I had a bounce from them once before , I resubmitted without changes and it flew right through.

What do I make of this?

Did you resubmit from the same draft file? It might have gotten counted as an "edit" and those go to the back of the posting queue.

You might try submitting it as a new story with a slightly different title and see if that resets it.

Also, all of the site work is done by Laurel and Manu. They are the only team.

Can you share the actual text of the rejection? We might be able to help you figure out what the rejection was specifically for.

Thanks for the reply.
It was rejected because of the 18 year old rule. I didn't explicitly make a character under age but I could see where it was implied. I fixed it in the attached draft with the rejection notice and resubmitted.

I will wait a day or two to see if it is changed to new. If not, I will do the copy and paste to a new story with a title change.

Is there a way to delete that draft that is hanging out there?

I'd do nothing at this point. Every time you futz with the file, you reset the clock and start all over again. Let the rejection/resubmission process run.

If you've tweaked your text, and said that in a Note to the Editor, you're back in the queue. If, in ten days, nothing's happened, a polite PM to Laurel might be all you need to break it loose. Patience, grasshopper.

The sticky 72 hours thread says it can take up to 30 days though.
Yes, but it's reasonable to follow up after ten days, given that other stories are being processed in a day or two. The conveyor belt runs at different speeds, for some reason.
