Best day to upload during summer?

I will be releasing a story biweekly in the NC/R category and I'm wondering what days would help with views during the summer. (you can ask for a specific day) Anybody got an idea?

Is it Monday? Middle of the week? Weekend?

I know releasing closer to each other is a better outcome but it must be biweekly per my normal life schedule.

I like to avoid having stories come out on weekends and holidays.

Any work day seems to be about the same. The number of readers and the number of new stories both vary, and you can't really predict what will work best.

You also don't usually get that level of control for which day a story gets published.

Once you submit a story, it will usually get approved for anywhere between the following day or three days from the submission date, assuming it doesn't get held up longer for Mysterious Reasons.

You can try putting a request in the Note to Admin field to be published on a specific date, Laurel will sometimes fulfill requests like that, but it's not a guarantee!

I'm not sure if uploading it makes a difference, but that's what I did when I submitted two stories on a Tuesday, and both were published on Thursday.

I believe there are far too many variables to statistically assert there is a "best" day. And, as mentioned, you don't predictably have control of how many days between submission and publication. There is (or has been) category balancing where story releases may be timed to even-out content peaks and valleys.

Pssst! Don't tell anyone this. It's strictly between you and me - you want to publish your stories on Monday. Monday has the lowest number of stories published, so has the highest average number of reads and comments. Here are the numbers from late 2023 to early 2024 for just the NC/R category:

When you submit a story, put into the Note to Admin that you'd like the story to be published on XX/XX/XXXX, which is a Monday at least 3 days out.

Again - don't tell anyone. This is a secret between you and me.

I was trying not to say, "Too many variables!", but I will, anyway. Category and season - even US holidays - are going to influence these stats. And not accountable is the latency between when comments are posted by the reader and actual publication. There have to be factors we aren't aware of with the big spread between Monday's and Wednesday's comment counts.

I know you work hard at keeping these numbers and have scripts for doing so. I am curious, though, if there are discernible differences between categories.
