best type of lube

hey all, just doing a bit of online shopping and need to get a good lube for all occasions, ie playing with toys, anal and self pleasing, for me and my girlfriend

what sort of lube should i be buying to do all these things, or should i buy one for each? ive currently been using ansell lube (aussie brand as far as im aware), its water based, but a bit tacky.

Sometimes it can depend are you going to use it in water things like that. My partner and I use wet brand flavoured lubricants its good. Id recommend trying a few different kinds and seeing your pref.

We find silicone lube to be a good all purpose lube. It's super slick, water-resistant, moisturizing, doesn't cause irritation or infection, a little goes a long way and it doesn't go bad (which is good when you want to save by buying larger quantities).

The only compatibility issue is with toys that also contain silicone (often including cyberskin and jelly rubber toys, which one really shouldn't use without condoms anyway since they're porous). Condoms and/or keeping a small supply of water-based lube on hand fixes that, though.

I'll agree with this and add a suggestion for a brand--try Pjur. They are a bit on the pricey side, but they are high-quality lubes and a regular size bottle will last a considerable length of time. To me it has been worth the investment. You can play around with their different types and thicknesses, which is cool to me.

If you want a water-based lube (for certain toys, or condoms) - try Elbow Grease. We like the classic gel, but they seem to make a great product.

Astroglide works well, it's much better than the KY brand, and it's not very expensive. I believe it's now available at many stores as well.

We swear by Gun Oil, it comes in silicone or water based. We've tried pretty much all of them and this one gets good coverage and it lasts without having to reapply over and over.
