Well that tree is a live oak, the Angel Oak just out side Charleston to be specific. Its over 1500 years old and is green like that all the time.

Why do they call them 'live' oaks? I've always wondered...

I am not really sure why they are called live oaks. My guess is that its because they have green leaves year round. Or maybe because they live to be so very old.

And y'all all come down and visit on vacation! Charleston is an amazing place. It is really something to walk down cobble stone streets past house after house dating from before the American Revolution and the wonderful palmetto trees (palm trees for everybody outside of SC)

I live in land a bit (about an hour and a half from Charleston).
