Most people smarter than you'll ever be know that if you take a loved one to the ER you're going to be in the ER with them for as long as they're there.

And most people know that the ER is a good choice for medical care on a Federal Holiday when their doc's office is closed and they need broken bones set and casted.

Joining Hamas might well seem like the best available option, to many a patriotic Palestinian of good heart and civic virtue.

It is at any rate a more reasonable and honorable choice than voting Likud would be to an Israeli.

When this war ends, Hamas will be a thing of the past.

Many Arabs in Gaza do sympathize with Hamas and their goal of committing genocide against the Jews. They helped Hamas hide the hostages over the last 400 days. Once the ceasefire was in effect, the cheering Gazans in the street were immediately vowed to commit another October 7th as soon as possible.

Eradicating Hamas doesn't just mean killing all their soldiers, it mean convincing the population of Gaza to turn away from their toxic ideology.
