Not only an entertainer, also an educator. I owe a lot of how I see the world to bird and Mr Rodgers. An accepting, open mind, is a blessing, not a flaw. No matter what the ignorance peddlers peddle.

Big Bird isn't dead. This is a terrible title. Caroll Spinney has passed away, so way to acknowledge the man behind the bird, OP.
The actor is dead, yes, but it wasn't him that children grew up watching, singing along with, or learning from. Big Bird is an immortal symbol, and like Mr. Rogers and his 912 shows, or Bob Ross' The Joy of Painting, what television captured brings them to life, and so long as they are replayed, they'll never die.
Johnny Carson is dead.
Frank Sinatra is dead.
Big Bird lives on, as portrayed by Matt Vogel, after Caroll Spinney's retirement at the age of 85.

They had a picture in Spinney's obit of a young hipster guy who I presumed was Spinney's replacement when he retired last year.
It wasn't.....it was Spinney himself in 1970.
Every pic I'd ever seen of Spinney was a middle aged to grey haired gentleman....Hard to believe he'd been doing this for half a century.
