I've been on birth control pills for the past 5 or 6 months and the only problem is that i've gained like 20lbs and I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea how to stop is weight gain and/or lose the weight that i put on. Thanks for any help.

Have you talked to your doctor about this? There are hundreds of different pills, and other hormone combinations might work better for you. A lot of women try many different kinds throughout their lives (I think I tried about 12 in 8 years). Most medical professionals say weight gain is usually from eating with the pill (i.e. having an extra snack with the pill to avoid nausea), but messing with hormones can screw with your body in a major way. You may also want to explore other options such as the NuvaRing and non-hormonal methods. I finally quit to give my body a break, and have felt a lot better overall, eventhough I was on one of the lowest formulations.

As for losing the weight, EJFan has a great thread going: https://forum.literotica.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=311797

Erika is totally right. There are a million types of pills out there that you can try and each will probably react a little differently in your system. The first pill I tried made me sick to my stomach and I had a friend in college who would gain weight on one type of pill but not on a different one. Finding the right bc pill for you and your body generally is a process of trial and error. Just talk to your doctor....I'm sure he/she will be happy to change your pill...

I have my tubes tied since I'm happy with the amount of children I have, but I will always remember the weight gain with most b/c pills. Even the shots.

Oh boy, I wish you luck! You could always have him f*** you more often. Work it off :)

In my time here and just talking to other women, I've heard mostly horror stories about Depo Provera, especially when it comes to weight gain. Women who have had side effects from the pill should consider the shot VERY carefully...it's a huge amount of hormones and is likely to be far more problematic than the pill. I've heard really good things about NuvaRing though, and apparently the hormones work a little more locally (vs. systematically with the shot and pill), so that's an option to talk to your doctor about if it's simply a matter of forgetting the pill everyday (you insert the ring once a week for 3 weeks, take a week off, and start again). We're sticking with condoms for now, which my doctor considers "very effective if you use them correctly every time" (we've never had one slip off or break in 6 years of use).

pill or shot sor just a condum

i beleave one should used condum
even with a pill or shots now days,,
if you going for the long haul then be tested and go with what you feel is rigght or works for you

But did you see or hear of that gal whom want a guy so bad she put hole in her condums and she got knocked up

he went to court and said wasn't his baby
dna test say it was

then a a friend told him what she did

each week his paycheck is smaller do to he don't use His condums.........

thats a reason for Men to pack there own

Daddyyy:heart:

thanks for the information. i think i'm gonna talk to my doc about the ring but i'm not sure yet. I really dont like condums cause i've had some break before and thats really scary but i'm not too worry cause the guy i'm with is the one i'm gonna be with forever.

You're absolutely right. Up until a few months ago, we used the pill AND condoms just to be extra safe, and we carefully considered the risk of pregnancy before quitting the pill.

I found this chart a few months back (scroll down the page). It shows the major types and doses of pills...find the generic name of the pill you're taking and see where it is on the hormone level spectrum. If it's a higher one, you might ask your doctor about trying a lower dose pill. http://www.wdxcyber.com/ncontr13.htm

Thanks for the chart, I checked it out. I'm on the .30 so the only lower i can go is .15 or .1 but i also get my pills free from planned parent hood cause my job doesn't pay that well. Now I'm looking into the ring to see how that my change....

It probably won't change if you're on the Take Charge plan. They can also give you a card that will allow you to get your pills/ring through any pharmacy in the state if they don't have the brand. Maybe ask if you can try a lower estrogen pill because (from my understanding) it's the estrogen that causes weight gain. I've done really well on Loestrin 1/20 Fe and Alesse eventhough I'm not under the recommended 150 pounds for that dose of estrogen. It's all voodoo science. ;)

haha ya i'm not anywhere near that weight limit. I wanted to go on the patch but cause of the wieght gain i couldnt go on that either. Is there any good sites about the ring or should I just go and talk to my doc?
Bahhhhhhhhh this is to difficalt.... I wish I just had a switch... it's like well i dont want a kid now so off goes the switch... ok i'm ready for kids back on with the switch lol. thanks ya'll

the pill "Yasmin" supposedly causes the least amount of weight gain. I suggest talking to your doctor about it.

I've check out both of the sites... i know the patch you have to be under 180 lbs i think so that won't work for me.

I really don't think I could have sex anymore then I already do I think we have sex at least twice everytime I see him :p

thanks again ya'll

Oh I also don't have to pay for my birth control because of planned parent hood otherwise my boyfriend will pay for it

Where did you hear that? Even the Yasmin website only claims it uses a different kind of progestin, but has the "same benefits of all HIGH DOSE ESTROGEN combination pills."
