Macy,
I do agree that it would be more productive and rewarding in our pursuits to fully illuminate ourselves and our intentions. What a relief that would be! Too bad cyber world has its dangers.
Many of us tend to be observers first, sifting until we find a place we feel relatively safe.
As far as discretion, professionally, it can be wiser to limit the possibility of being identified publically; such as public figures or just living in rural areas. Though we may be "free", that doesn't mean there are no consequences to exercising that freedom. There are companies and agencies that look upon each employee as a representative, and require adherence to a "code of ethics and conduct", even on that employee's own time. Generally it's not a problem until someone takes it upon themselves to be "offended".
So where does that leave us? Before joining this board, it took me four days to decide I would restrict the sharing of any visual or specific location/community activity identifiers (exclusive to the right situation). In fair exchange, I will feel free to express myself anyway I so choose here, my new haven. Whenever I feel an irresistable gravitation pull, I will "freefall" toward it, without resistance or constraints.
Guess I rambled on as well.
Oh, and definitely looking to meet some lovely ladies!
