Jake lay there, and tried to close his eyes, however something felt wrong. He was uncomfortable. He was indeed fighting urges within himself urges to touch, and be touched. “I was sure you were dead earlier.” He said softly moving a bit closer to her. That thought bothered me for a lot of reasons.” He continued, “Partially because I felt like I really didn’t know you, so it seemed like such a shame to never have that chance to get to know you.” He said softly. “You’ve always been this mystery, inhuman almost mythical in your aloofness. I wonder now, how much of that was an act meant to put people at the distance you want them, and how much is actually true. Now it seems as if I am to get to know you as a real person and that feels awkward.” He chuckled, “It’s almost like when I was a teen and had my first crush and didn’t know how to talk to her.” He cleared his throat, “Not saying that I’m attracted to you like that—well I mean it’s not that you’re unattractive—because you’re beautiful—always have been, but I’m loyal to my wife.” He finished lamely realizing he was rambling, “But never mined you must think me silly, I just wanted you to understand some of my thoughts. I guess in some way what I was trying to say is you’ve always seemed so apart from everyone else that I have a difficult time seeing you as someone who is like me in any way.”
“Sorry, I was never good at pillow talk.” He said making a joke at his own expense, ending probably the most he had ever said to her.
