It all seemed so vivid in her mind, even to this day. The feel of that man's hand in her hair, pulling her head back, his arm locked tightly against her. He had whispered words, not words of love and seduction, but promises of pain and end of innocence. She had sobbed, begged for him to leave her be, to let her continue her life in obliviousness to a creature such as himself... And then that feeling. That searing pain of his teeth against her flesh. The pierce if his fangs and the flow of her blood...
But even through all that, she saw the other one.
The man who watched.
He lingered back, seeming as horrified as she was on the scene taking place before him. She had even pleaded for his help, but he did not move.
She understood some time later.
When the girl she was, no longer was her.
She was like him. They were no longer people of their own free will... They were the puppets of this monster, the vampire who demanded they refer to him only as The Father. The Father gave you life, The Father controlled all. The will of The Father was your command. To disobey The Father resulted in pain, horrific pain that an immortal could only wish somehow would provide death.
The Father was a horrendous creature. He had no concern on the pain he caused for others, the destruction he left in his wake. He forced the two, the Siblings as he dubbed them, to carry out the tasks he found so demeaning. When villages had no 'suitable' food sources, he encouraged them to go take as they wished, only to take from them once they returned to him. Even blood was not enough, her body used as his own toy as he wished over the centuries.
Release from his control finally came in the early 1900's.
The people had enough of the monster they feared. They stormed his home, destroyed the creature, attempted to do the same to her as they found her in his bed. If it had not been for her brother in blood, finding her in the flames of the house...
It left her in madness. Safety with Brother. And safety she found, for centuries. Though as times changed, so did she. The ways of The Father still lingered in their minds, the tasks they had completed in his name... They were things that whispered in her head, begged to be revived...
Curious things on the way Brother reacted.
The way she herself reacted.
The hunger that a vampire could never lose...
Rebecca had tried so hard to blend in that night. It had rained. It drew out the scents of the city. Smells that the human senses certainly weren't aware of... The overwhelming linger of the traffic intensified. The stink of human sweat. The allure of arousal.
That was a vampire's call. The beckon of one so lost in lust that they were oblivious to their mistakes.
She had found one such man, covered in the stink of alcohol and the linger of lust, standing in the rain outside a club. It was fading away... A man spurned. His affections, if it could be deemed as such, denied and the hurt drowned in added liquor. The blood was tainted, but a source none the less. Rebecca ached with hunger, and to deal with the aftermath of his mistake was something she was willing to have at this point.
Be alluring. A black leather skirt, tight to flesh, hint at what was hidden beneath. A tiny thing. Her chest was meager, but shown off well in the black lace top, the small black bra a tiny sense of modesty- or perhaps the sign of a harlot. He had taken notice of her stare, her approach. A drunken smirk and the sheep followed the wolf.
"Poor thing.... Did she turn you down....?," She purred softly as he trailed after her into the alley.
"She's- she's a bitch anyway," He stumbled out, clumsy hands already pawing at her shirt. "You.... my type too."
The speech of a caveman. This was going to linger foul in her mouth. "You're sweet, love....," She purred, wrapping her arms about his neck, kissing tenderly against his skin. The smell. The heat of his veins. "I'm cold. Hold me. The rain is too cold."
"I can... warm up...."
She doubted he felt it.
God, the taste. So foul. But she fed. The taste would stay, she was certain of it. She prayed Brother would not notice... Dropping the body to the rainsoaked ground, she wiped the remaining drops from her lips, simply stepping around him and taking those first stumbled steps out into the street. Damn the blood of a drunkard....
