Finally, this little enterprise is getting off the ground! Just about emptied the bank, but my retirement dream of running a real New England style Bed and Breakfast is now a reality.
First came acquiring an old Adirondack Great Camp, then all the antiquing to properly outfit the place. Then came the significant cash outlay for various bondage paraphernalia. You'd be hard pressed to find a more comprehensive collection of toys, tools and restraints outside of a major fetish porn studio.
That was the other part of the dream; creating a sort of safe haven vacation spot for my fellow kinksters. Progress has been made, and I do have friends in the Sherriff's department, but technically, it's still illegal to bind and gag your lover, illegal to beat them with a flogger, illegal to just be kinky in general. That offends me.
I can understand the need to protect folks from predators, blackmail and coercion, but willing and informed preconsent should negate crimes like Unlawful Imprisonment and Aggravated Assault.
I guess I'm just paranoid because I don't have a full time security staff to help mitigate such concerns.
On the upside, I had guests on their way, and through some associates, had somehow acquired the services of an honest-to-God Cordon Bleu Chef. A surprisingly feminine sort, at least for someone who hadn't wrestled with Gender Dysphoria like me. He was at the market, getting a handle on what's local and in season so he could plan a menu. Fortunately, he'd pronounced my kitchen "adequate".
I'd just finished hefting the Saint Andrews Cross into the suite I'd prepared for my guests. I went over the list one more time, making sure I had everything ready. My first guest was a noted feminist author, and I wanted to make sure her visit was perfect.
On the way back to the front desk, I paused to look in the mirror.
Long, wavy red hair under a purple bandana - the universal sign for "caution - woman at work" - angular face with broad high cheekbones and a large, thick-lipped mobile mouth. a perfectly unremarkable nose separated large green eyes, and the whole face was covered in an outrageous spattering of freckles. Some people say I look kind of like Claire Forlani, and I guess I can see that if I squint and tilt my head sideways.
Boobs just coming in under the grey ribbed tank top and denim shirt, and strength just starting to go. Hazards of hormones, I suppose. Being a doctor myself, I was pretty careful about managing them, but that cross had been a hell of a lot more work than it would've been even a few months ago.
That's right, I'd been born a guy. Fourth son in a typical macho Irish working class family. My brothers were a cop, a fireman, and a paramedic. All the usual bases covered. Me, I finally couldn't hide it any more, couldn't be what I wasn't.
It cost me my job and my family, but I was finally going to be the woman I felt like all along.
All of which brings me to today; the first real day of my new life.
