a little part of me also has to wonder if it wasn't deliberate on musk's part: so long as everyone believed the files were redacted without recourse, trump and his minions would be happy... at the same time, musk retained the ability to 'unredact' at will and use it as leverage or retaliation.By the glorious law of obvious consequences, the fuck-up in redaction of the files was the fault of Musk.
It had puzzled me as I use the Redaction tool in Acrobat regularly and I couldn't reproduce the issue. Clearly the DOJ were just drawing black rectangles on the files instead.
It turns out that Musk cancelled the subscriptions to full Adobe Acrobat to save a few dollars. Therefore the suite of tools including Redact wasn't available. This is a 'tech genius' fucking up at intern level.
This is what happens when the son of a mine owner purchases an IT company and pretends he built it from scratch.
