Which reminds me of my Chemistry studies. I had to analyze (spectrally) a mixture of chemicals and was sent back to the lab several times, because I did not find one of the elements. Other students checked my stuff as well (as I did with theirs) and did not find anything. After some hours my teacher (some assistant of the professor) became pretty upset (me too - I felt an urge to kick his balls ) and then he showed the stupid beginner how to do it properly.

He didn't find anything else than I did, looked at me and asked me, if I had taken the missing element out of the mixture (now I really had to hold myself back not to kick his balls or burn them with a Bunsen burner thus called a "Balls burner" afterwards)

Unfortunately, the hot girl who was my lab partner was kind of dumb (well... still is, unless something drastic happened)

Yeah, I read that this morning on my msn. To be honest, I kind of expected it when he was so careful not to make any statements on the topic earlier. I can't blame him, although of course it's really sad and I hope that the team keep the spirit he has given them.

Yep, it's really sad, I like him a lot. Mind you, when I was in England for nine months (some years ago) he played in London and on Mondays I had an awful lot of fun with my colleagues at school. Almost each week there were some headlines in the papers which read like "Klinsmann made the day" or "Jurgen did it" (no "ü" or "ue"). I always cut out the articles and put it in their pidgeon wholes (like an open letter box every teacher had) with a note on it to pass it on to the other teachers. When we did our weekly football (soccer for the American readers) game against some pupil's team, they always called me Jurgen - not that I am anywhere close to his talent. I think there was some irony in calling me Jurgen...
Mind you, those nine months were really great!

Ah, fond memories of chem labs . . . and bio labs. High school chem lab was fun . . . two of my fellow band geeks (and rather pretty girls, I must say), though neither was particularly into "hands on" lab stuff. Both were always afraid they'd ignite their hair if they tried to light the Bunsen burner. They made me do it, which was fine (ok, I'm an Eagle Scout and a little bit of a pyro *shrug*) . . . but my hair was twice as long as their's and much wilder.

'Course in college I had to explain everything to my bio lab partner during dissections. And almost got beaten a few times by jealous guys in my dorm. I think she majored in bio, actually, while I ran away after two semesters. Doubt she did very well.

I've never actually done a dissection. Teachers never got around to it in High School, and this is the first and last boi class I'm taking in college. So we'll see how that works out.
