Calling all dedicated writers...

STILL no word from the moderators (*YELLS* "Hey, are you guys awake?" to the moderators...) If I hear no word from them by Monday I think we can assume they're not interested. Instead we can ask dancinvixen (you did say you'd be an editor type!) and/or another volunteer to judge- obviously someone who does not post here would be nice.
I have been thinking about this book idea; I guess our aim should not to get published (although that would be nice) but to have fun with like-minded talented and dedicated writers- writing a good novel isn't as simple as slapping a scenario down onto paper and writing about the characters that live there. For example, is the world like ours? Is it set in the past? What is the politics of the world? Does magic exist in this world? Are there anymore species on the planet other then humans? (Like Elves and Orcs, and so on.) What is the religion like- can you interact with the gods like in the "When the Gods..." thread? Phew. The list goes on. And on...
We have not discussed what style the story is to be in as well- fantasy? Sci fi? Humor? Or perhaps all...? And for example, who has the last word of what is to be put in the story? Eek! Responsibility.
So I ask this to everyone: still up for it?

P.S: Have we all decided on an "audition" type of affair of choosing the writers for this? Perhaps 500-600 words typed under the genre of fantasy to be given/ posted here for 'teacher' to mark?

lady aline i have a few ideas just in case i dont get picked
1.have you ever read "Lord Of the Rings" trilogy? if you have then i think a land similar to that would be good, with a few exeptions so we dont get copywrite cited, magic SHOULD exist (or roland and sith cant exist witch would be horrible) as for the Genre i think a combination of Fantasy and humor would be the best because its much easyer to write than it is sci-fi ( and alot cooler too cos in sci fi there are too many lasers) also tell me when you want this story so i have time to write it. also i would like to say before anything happens that we all get together somewhere and chat about this so we know limits to the storys

Once you logout anyone with the appropiate interface will be able to feel your story.

Yes, better fantasy. But the first part of the work would be to create the world, its past, gods, history...

Riiiight. OK. The ball is officially rolling! (WHO HO!) So this mean we can proceed with the (duh-duh-DUH) audition. I will be posting another thread so the entries can go into that. Basically, the entry should be:
*A short story 600 words max (it isn't a lot... not THAT scary).
*The stimulus for the story is "Fantasy." Pretty wieldable to anyone's imagination, don't you think?
I think if you can be bothered to write a story then you should definitely be considered. The deadline for this story is August the first- plenty of time to get the creative juices flowing and onto paper. Any disagreements? Sorry for being the bossy type- I'm not usually, you know.

I would like to join in on this. Unfortunely, I would not be very good with editing. Or grammer, but depending on what type of "Fantasy" we are talking about, I could help with ideas. If you wouldn't mind that type of help?

I think thats about all I can join up for, I can't even say I could help write, cause I just started writing myself. I have played several Fantasy type games though. So if you would, let me know how I might help here are my email addys.

I hate it when newbies delve into things they know nothing about, and look alike an idiot. It reminds me of me, and that's a horrific thought. My policy (well, new policy that is) is to sit back, listen up, and just do my part, instead of asking for a part. If you beg some guys to play poker, the'll just laugh at you. The only thing to do it is to through your anti on the table and force them to deal you in.
