Candles for Gabrielle

Almost four years ago, my wife fell very ill. She was pregnant with our one and only child. As her husband, I had to make a decision to save one or the other.

I made the wrong decision, and lost them both.

My pain, I hope, may give you comfort, Vana, for I have learned to go on. I cannot feel it as you do, of course. But I have always felt that life abounds and deserves to be cherished and remembered, no matter how long or short it lasts.

May angels keep Gabrielle. For she deserves nothing less.

I have lit my candle for her.
