Can't Change Author Biography

I’m trying to amend my bio too, location as well as I’ve relocated countries. Any advice on how to do this welcomed.

It used to update the profile near instantly. I would put the changes in and like three to five minutes later they would appear. If 24 hours is now the expected update time, it would be nice to know about that...

I like to post links and pictures in my profile and I'd have to plan ahead if 24-hours for profile changes is the new normal. I know I'm not crazy thinking 24-hours isn't what the update time always was.

24 hours is just a standard that covers the bases. The update times for the various pages are wide-ranging, but everything updates at least once every 24 hours. If it hasn't, there's probably an issue.

Most updates will happen far more quickly/frequently than that.

I'm guessing you did it right Calley1. It's just taking a long time for profile updates to appear in the profile right now. I wouldn't worry about needing help and just wait. Seems we need a bit of patience with this.

I've been trying to update my bio for days, and thanks to this thread, I see that it is updated here in the forums but is still not updated on my author page. However, my new avatar photo is still in " User avatar uploaded successfully and waiting for moderation." limbo. (If my avatar is no longer a redhead and four men, then it's been updated.)

It takes days to get your avatar updated, moderating them is low priority. Then once it's updated on one side it can take days to synchronize to the other. Patience. If all else fails, PM Laurel.

I've been testing and passing along information to Manu. It's being looked into.

I've easily been unable to update my profile for over a week, much like other posters here, although I've done so easily before that time. It's like the counters reset or go backwards to some earlier point because my comment count even lowers and I know because I track mine.

EDIT (1036 CDT): In fact, the only time I had 1732 comments was on 4 Oct 2024, and that partially jives with my update saying "this month," as it appears whatever patch or rollback was site applied would be a likely culprit on that day. IF the system were counting my comments correctly, I would have 1752, as that's a huge difference. I've reported this same bug where it's clear comment counts have not updated in different story categories for a while now.

Changes were submitted to my profile on Sunday. They are still not updated to the author profile as of Wednesday morning. More than 48 hours.

Six days now and no update has happened to my author profile since the changes last Sunday. This is getting rather annoying as people keep mesaging me to tell me that my links in the profile are expired, which I already know and keep having to explain to them that it's due to this update bug. I'd REALLY like to have this working again so I don't have to field 100 messages a day "alerting me" that my profile needs to be updated...

Hello! Looks like something did update in my profile, but not the last text I saved, more than a week ago. My profile picture was approved, but it doesn't show on my profile page, just in the Options page and here on the Forum.

Still no update on this issue from anyone? My changes from two weeks ago are STILL pending and haven't hit the profile. I'm getting DOZENS of messages every time I log in to the chat that I need to update my links in the profile which is getting very old...

The profile update system has been tuned again so you should see updates appearing quicker starting today. Please let me know if you continue to see updates that take longer than an hour.
