The air was hot and sticky, humidity clung to the walls in the otherwise cold, dark room. The sound of heavy breathing echoed through the room, masculine groans hushed and quiet, broken every now and again by a feminine gasp or cry. The only other sound other then the two entwined lovers was the tick-tick-ticking of a clock that was hung somewhere in the abyss. The sounds of cars passing in the street below rushed by every so often, but, from fifteen plus stories up, a quiet rush was all that was heard of the nights traffic.
In the silhouette of the end table's dim light, one could outline the curve of her spine, the rise of her breasts, snaking down along her trim little torso, her long, darkly shaded hair bouncing lightly with the rise and fall of her own hips. His hands were gripping her thighs, her hips; pulling her farther onto him in near desperation of his oncoming orgasm. She never lowered his body to his, their lips never touched, in a way, the rise and fall of her figure against his own was rather angry and ferocious.
"Any last words, baby?" Came a strained, panting voice, followed by a groan, the man's eyes rolling back lightly, his fingertips gripping her ass. As his lips parted, his eyes widened, looking down to the woman straddling his hips. A look of terror flushed the pleasured visage that had, only a few seconds prior been slapped across his head.
"Yeah..." Came a smooth, sultry voice, the click of a magazine slipping into place followed her retort instead of her counterparts moan. "First off, never call me baby..." She cooed, her eyes locking with his as she leaned forward, her fingertips pressing the barrel of the gun she was holding to his temple. "And secondly, I've had better, this was pathetic."
With that, she squeezed the trigger, the man's scream not even escaping his throat by the time his brains were splattered against the pillow to the side of the bed. As she rose from the bed, she gave a quiet sigh, sweat clinging to her slender form. She clicked a switch on the wall, and the hotel room sprang to life in the sudden lighting. It was a small room, the decor was new, and from the looks of it, expensive. The small black phone laid sprawled somewhere between the couch and the pile of clothes. Picking it up gingerly, she flipped it open, pressing a few buttons before speaking.
"He's gone." She said almost cheerfully, a devilish little grin snaking its way along her fair visage. "No, he didn't pose much of a problem. I was a little worried about someone hearing the gunshot....but the silencer took care of that nicely." After a short pause, she gave a soft laugh, looking back at the body. "Give me ten minutes, then send up maintenance, I don't think we'll need to clean anything but the bed and his clothes. There wasn't much of a mess."
Without much of another word, she clicked the phone shut, setting it on the coffee table with a sigh. Gingerly, she slipped into the bathroom, turning on the faucet to the shower, her fingertips all the while picking through her purse, producing a change of clothes. It was only a matter of minutes until she was out of the shower, her fingertips towel drying her hair before she slipped into the jeans and sweater she had taken along.
Walking back out into the hotel room, droplets of water clinging to her white shirt, she looked to the body on the bed. That tricky bastard laying there was the head of a drug ring that spread from Mexico to New York, the cartel had slipped by police and private investigators for years, so, she was surprised that the man hadn't asked for any form of identification on her part, save for the papers to show she was clean. Pretending to be a whore for her job wasn't the most embarrassing thing she had ever done, though by far wasn't her favorite, even if this particular brothel was rather high class.
It wasn't long before there was a knock at the door, and a team of around five to ten men came flooding in, each going about their work, destroying all evidence that she had even been there, and of course, disposing of the body.
"Well done." Came a voice from behind her, her sullen blue eyes watching as the men went about their work. As she turned to see her supervisor, Tony Duvalle, his smile faded, his brow raising lightly.
Tony was a tall man, graying hair that had seen better days, and wrinkles on his face that were carved by, she was sure, the line of work that he had chosen. Bounty hunting. This wasn't the kind of bounty where you were to drag a deadbeats ass to court, no, the kind of hunting they were doing was shoot to kill.
A smile came over the woman's lips as she looked to her elder, nodding lightly. "Thanks, Tony." She said with a sigh, shaking her head lightly.
"...You look like you could use a drink." He replied with a laugh, placing his hand on her shoulder and leading her out the door. "Or several."
Chuckling quietly, she nodded. This was as close to an invitation as she was going to get from him, so she decided to take him up on the offer. "Yeah, but you're buying this time." She said, looking up to him with a smirk.
"After the money you brought in from his job, Eva I'll buy you the whole damn bar!" Tony nearly shouted with excitement. For an old man, he was young in heart, mind, and for the most part, body; save for the beer belly that was starting to form due to late nights at the bar and the fast food that he had to force down his throat between home and the office.
The bar was remarkably right across the street, the Benz that Tony drove over sitting right next to it, the car shining in the plethora of neon lights that hung overhead in the city. As the two of them walked through to sit at the bar, the rush of loud music and the musty air filled with alcohol and smoke blasted her senses.
Tony ordered a scotch on the rocks, Eva ordered vodka, she wasn't sure of the kind, just so long as it was strong and expensive. She loved wracking up Tony's tab. "They're onto us, Eva." Tony yelled above the music. "That other band of hunters, they have a bounty on your head, you know that correct?"
"...Since last month, Tony." Eva yelled back, taking a sip of the vodka in the crystal glass in the palm of her hand. "It's not like I'm trying to hide, they want me? They know where to find me."
"That's just the thing, Eva!" Tony retorted in a stern, father-esque voice. "You've taken no precautions whatsoever! I couldn't believe it when I heard it."
"Cool it, old man." Eva said with a grin, her eyes glazed over slightly from trying to numb herself from the events of the night. "It's not like I'm completely unprepared, I've got you, right?"
Tony smiled sullenly as he watched the bartender pour him another scotch. "...For now, Eva....For now."
