Lexi propped a booted foot onto the console of her ship and reclined in the captain's seat. She was just a few hours from her next delivery and the cargo was secure. This trip was taking a lot longer than planned and in all honesty, she was beginning to feel antsy. She wanted to get there and get out. Deep space was too quiet for her liking, too dead and she was alone.
The small, but capable cargo ship was her pride and joy. With it, she had her independence, turned up a good profit and didn't answer to anyone. She was good at what she did. Fast, reliable and stayed out of trouble. But times like these, she often wished she had at least a second person to keep her company.
Sigh a tired sigh, she let her gaze scan her monitors and screen tugging at a loose silky strand of inky black hair. Her mind began to wander to the old tales of pirates raiding ships. Sort of the old take on raping and pillaging. She'd always scoffed at the idea. It seemed rather ludicrous in her mind and no one had ever given anyone else any sort of evidence to contradict her views on the subject. It was just silly.
Standing, she stretched her arms up over her head and groaned she popped a couple of joints and felt the sweet pull of her muscles. She was a small woman and for all intensive purposes was delicately built, with pale skin, pale blue eyes and a wealth of inky black hair. Stuffed into her flight suit, her curves weren't on display, which she liked. It made other pilots take her seriously, instead of ogling over bare flesh.
Lost in random thoughts, she jerked slightly at a small warning blip. Turning to her sensors, she scanned the perimeter and found nothing. “Alright, stop being paranoid.”
Turning away, she shook her head and moved away, going for her bag of snacks. Maybe food would at least keep her awake. Another blip caught her attention and she frowned. “Nope, ignoring you. Not looking.”
