I thought eunuchs were men, just missing a few parts. I read an article recently that this is making a comeback somewhere I think. That, or I have it mixed up with a Steve Berry novel.

Castration was used on young boys so they would keep their singing voice, the knock on effect was the growth hormone would continue to work and not stop after they matured (no balls to drop) so not only did these guys have great singing voices they also grew into giants!!!
