Catch Me Up

Good morning ... friends :)

I'm RhymeFairy, some do know me here as ... Heather ~ I did have another alt ... or two. When I was first introduced to Lit. I was known as LilDarlin ( 2004 ). Yes, most knew this and I would still be using that name if not for a horribly abusive ex that took my AOL account along with the home I paid for ... but it was all in exchange - for my three children.

There has been one constant in all this. I love to write. I have had the awesome good fortune of being introduced to most of you here on the Poetry threads and I am so humbled. I write but you all w r i t e ... I love coming here ( home to me ) and witnessing, or just feeling a part of this group. I have learned so much and continue to do so on a momentary basis.

I have had a grand total of ONE TRUE LOVE in my life. Unfortunately it is a love that I feel, shall never be ... But, that shall not keep me from looking forward to life and the write ... I had a wonderful, although sheltered upbringing on a dairy farm with verrry strict parents. I have always been very out going and happy. I was in the medical field for 14 years as a CNA and now I work pretty much whatever I can get due to taking care of the kids and such.

As I said, I currently have three children - who are the light of my life. They help keep me grounded and in touch with ... reality. I used to sometimes find myself wishing and dreaming of a life where my teenage dreams really did happen but then reality steped in and I knew what I had to do, and then somewhere along the way, the kids became - my dreams.

I have been absent from Lit. for a while now and am just making a reappearance from a move into a new home ( of which I am buying, yeah !!! ) with no phone lines but I did get it all hooked back up and am sooooo ecstatic to be back. I have yet to write my first " real " poem since being back and that really upsets me. I want to write and there is so much to be said but still ... I hold back.

It's a long story but I do have a bombshell for ya'll ... I am 4 moths pregnant due on Feb. 22, 2009 although I feel blessed by the pregnancy I am and shall remain single and no ... the father is not in my life except for prenatal visits and knowing we shall be good parents but ... apart. Although this pregnancy was in no way planned ... It shall be.

I'm happy to be back and see so many new faces along with ... family. How's that ... for catching up? ;)

Hello all.

Thought I'd drop my own little ditty here too.

I am Rhyme Fairy's secret lover. (just kidding) but we truly are great friends.

I've been on Lit since 2000 Though back then I used to write under the name of Thesandman. Around 2005 - 2006 I went through a Metamorphosis of sorts, a nasty divorce, then shortly after that the loss of a woman I loved that had of course brought about the divorce, so I too disappeared for a while. I then began to look into my natural heritage, and found some help and healing through that. When I emerged, I basically came back to Lit as who I am now. Many Feathers, my Indian name and one I am very proud to use.

I have since been remarried, doing well, and enjoying life once again. I've got a medical issue that has been a bit of an Albatross on my back, but hopefully I will get through it and be able to come here and continue to write. But I've also adopted a new way of thinking about life and all that happens, what will be will be, and sometimes as much as we don't like it, we can't change a lot of what comes our way, all we can do is learn to accept and deal with it. So that's what I've learned to do and am now doing.

I've been writing a lot, posting a lot of new stories (some are a little out there, which even I have to admit) but I've had fun testing myself, writing stories for people who've asked me to do a story about this, or that. So you see...it's not all "me" as it were. It's been an interesting period, writing stories for fans or fellow readers that have asked me to. So I've done so finding it to have been an interesting challenge.

My goal (was) is to now reach 200 stories here on Lit, and then retire, which hopefully won't happen before I do. So we'll see. That only leaves me about (40) stories short of that goal at the moment, which means I've got a lot of writing ahead of me still. So if you've got an idea for one you'd like to see me do, feel free to tell me what it is. Even as vivid as my imagination is, I'm starting to see the bottom of the barrel here. :)

All righty then! "Hi"! (I kinda feel like the 8th round draft pick that just met Payton Manning for the first time - and we are both naked in the locker room!) Well, from what I see, we should be about as sympatico as two people can be:

  • love writing = yup
  • had an alt from a 'prior life', but starting a newer, better life with a new alt: yup
  • farm girls = yup
  • verrry strict parents (read sucky for mine): yup
  • love our kids more than anything: yup
  • constant stream of wierd shit flowing through our lives: yup!
The biggest diff is that you are REALLY good! I can't wait to read your newest poem! So get off you ass, girl! You can't disappoint, so no more excuses.

Anyhow, welcome back, all your stuff is right where you left it!

Welcome, welcome. I won't repeat what I said in the prior post to RhymeFairy, but it applies to you as well. :D

I like the part about embracing your heritage. I'm happy for you. It is a wonderful thing to not just know your family tree, but to 'understand' your birthright. I'm part Menomonee [Wolf Clan] (LOL = got the cheek bones ~ but too many Swede's snuck into my family tree, so I'm a blue eyed, blonde squaw!)

Well, I look forward to you next 40 stories. suuntsaa', dude.

Thank you.

Yeah, if it hadn't been for that, getting a little help from my redskin friends, not sure this ole' Indian would even still be here. But I am, at least for the time being anyway!

Interesting...but the Shoshone tribe I am from includes the Wolf which is one of my four totems. So we're a bit kindred in that respect too.

And honey, don't ever call yourself a squaw, that you're not unless you do something else for a living that I'm not aware of. *wink* A ha'na-wee ha perhaps, which is beautiful spirit, so lets go with that one.

So waso, ha'na-wee ha, waso.

Well its seems we're all sharing our rough life stories today. Well I have one, but you are going to be hard pressed to get it out of me.:D

All I will say is life was CRAP and I've just about dug myself out of it, but still a long way to go to clear it all.

That's pretty amazing news, RF. I'm sure it was to you, too. :D

You have my crazy Jewish blessings on your & baby's health. And you do realize that when the birdy and me get our act together, I'll be available for babysitting. And we're both great with kids.

hello,
I am loststar, also known as the sparkly one, I came to the boards in early march through the help of a very good friend...it is very little of a secret that I know the real life bj. you people have become something of a second family to me, another village that I get the joy of being a part of. I absolutely love sharing here, and while I am certainly not a very good poet, the patient among you have helped me craft a little bit of skill. I am a horrible speller, to illustrate that I am tempted not to edit this post but that would be rather cruel, so I'll let spell checker do its job. I am bisexual, and just barely beginning to understand my polyamourous tendencies. I love my husband dearly and am very greatful he hasn't just lost his mind and told me I'm not worth the fuss. I tend to write by the seat of my pants, and edit later. I have no formal pieces, just stuff I stick on the boards cause it gets stuck on my mind. I hope that I can spread a smile to your lives, as you all have spread one to mine. Well good night and good luck

I meant to tell you this the other day but when I was in grad school I worked on a Menomonee reservation. I was a teacher/counselor, helping get kids ready for university. It was a great experience and I loved the kids I met there (though truth to tell I love most all kids; I'm just one of those people who likes being around kids, even those rotten sullen teenagers lol).
