Caught

The edge was there, then suddenly, disappeared and I was free falling through that split second of pre orgasmic nothingness; no sound, no sight, nothing but the sensation of being completely swallowed by the abyss that precedes the fireworks. That moment when you think oh, no, I'm falling, oh, fuck! that feels like nothing else, and everything goes blank while your mind and body try to assimilate what's happening. And then, it's happening; that heart stopping mental, physical. emotional moment when it all comes together, crashes down, makes everything else insignificant.

Somewhere in the bliss, I lost control. I reached behind me, looking for what, I don't know, just something to grab onto while I tried to keep my thighs from suffocating him. "He's a strong enough guy, I thought to myself. He can wrestle my thighs enough to make room to breathe, and even while the thought was forming in my head, I felt his hands on me, holding me tight, fighting any bit of resistance I had, which, honestly, wasn't resistance at all. It was simply the primal instinct of my body to do whatever was necessary to keep his face, especially his tongue, in exactly the same place they were now. I arched my back, pushed against him with my feet, held the pillow over my head while I groaned, unintelligibly, so lost in feeling the orgasm he created in my wash over my body. Every flick of his tongue set off a new wave of unbelievable pleasure, even as my clit protested the continued manipulation. The sensation, almost painful, set off the ache in my calf, and as hard as I pulled away, I pushed against his mouth.

Oh god Carson, I can't stand it, please don't stop, oh fuck...oh...
I knew I was making no sense, but I suspected he understood, just the same. His hand on my belly, fingers stroking me inside and out, well, of course he had to know there was no way I could communicate verbally just yet. The few sounds I was able to expel between breaths seemed to be all the reassurance he needed he had taken me there. My thighs were still wrapped tightly around his head, they were not going to relinquish their grip until forced. The sheen of perspiration, now more of a coat, really, made every place our skin touched slippery and hot. It was more than enough to make me reluctant to let go, but my pussy was spent, for the moment.

I reached for his head, resting my palm just back from his forehead, so I could run my fingers through his sweaty wet hair, feel the heat emanating from him still. I could almost breathe normally, but my heart was still racing. If I had taken him close to where he took me just now, I knew we would both be ready for a return trip or two when we had our strength back. Right now, though, I just wanted to be close, snuggled up to him.

"Come here, babe, let me just, well, let me just feel you, okay?" I asked when my voice could be trusted to carry.

Right now, I wanted nothing more than to curl up beside him and be. Just be.

My mouth remained latched onto her as she trembled and groaned, her pleasure expressed in unintelligible cries. Her hips lurched forward, seeking out my tongue as an orgasm coursed through her body. Each wave that pushed through her nerves brought her off of the bed again, her legs pulling me forward. Every time I would begin to think that she was done, her body would convulse again to the sound of moans and gasps.

Then, almost as sudden as it began, it was all over; her exhausted body went limp, dropping back down onto the bed. I could feel her hand roaming over my scalp, her fingers shaking as they slowly felt their way through my hair. Her thighs had relaxed, knees falling away from the sides of my head.

"Come here, babe, let me just, well, let me just feel you, okay?"

Slowly withdrawing my fingers from her, I pushed myself up and moved around her bent leg. Crawling up the bed next to her limp body, I lowered back down onto my side facing her. Leaning over, I kissed her; slowly pressing our lips together, my hand sweeping her damp hair to the side, I pressed my tongue forward to meet hers.

Breaking my lips away from hers, I smiled and brushed my thumb over her cheek. Adjusting the pillow, I made sure that both of us had room to rest our heads on it. Letting myself relax back into the bed, I reached over and slipped my arm under her shoulders. Sliding the other over her waist, I held her as close to me as I could while still allowing a little room for air to circulate between us. When her legs had relaxed back onto the bed, I let my feet gently nudge against hers. Both of us were drained, at least for the moment, and the sheen of sweat glistening on our skin would wear off before too long. The flickering light was already starting to show dull patches on our bodies where the moisture had evaporated.

Lying next to her, both of us slowly trying to reach the state of physical resilience that we had begun the day with, I looked over and smiled. If this isn’t perfection, I’ll be damned if I know what it is, I thought to myself. There was still a hint of rosiness in her cheeks, slowly fading as she regained her composure. I had begun to realize that “true happiness” could take on different forms, each just as alluring as the next. Replaying everything in my mind, and looking over at her spent frame, it made me immensely content to know that I had been the driving factor. Being able to push her up to and over the edge of composure made me just as happy as being on the receiving end of her torturous doings. Easing a little closer, I propped myself up on my side to look down at her. I didn’t want to say anything, just savor the moment and try to memorize every inch and curve of her body from head to toe.

Breathing was easier, but I was still powerless to move more than just my fingers, or my lips. As much as I wanted to roll into him, wrap up in his warm body, all I could do was lie there and marvel at the sensation if his fingers in my hair, brushing the strands from my face. When he kissed me it was as if breathing wasn't necessary, just the feel of his mouth on mine imparted everything I needed. Everything I needed, right here, wrapped around me. I had never felt anything like this, and was determined to hold on as long as I possibly could.

The perspiration that had developed between us began to evaporate, leaving cool dry patches that ached for heat. Even spent and exhausted, my core longed to be wrapped around him. Moments ago I had thought the heat was too much. Now I knew that was not the case. How could it ever be too much? I thought as his body leaned in, closer. I looked up, sensing him looking at me, found him smiling softly. I smiled back, ran my hand down his chest, and snuggled closer to him. It was an incredibly comforting feeling, to know that he didn't expect words, and that I didn't have to search for them right now.

My brain was foggy, the post orgasmic hormones coursing through me relaxed not just my mind, but my body, too. I felt like I had just run a marathon and come in first, blissfully spent and enjoying the sensation of having experienced such an amazing encounter. Later, when it was the right time to talk, I couldn't wait to hear what he thought of our night. I had lost all concept of time, but the dark was still apparent through the closed blinds. I was in no hurry for daylight, knowing we would both have other things to do come morning. I wondered how I was ever going to find the strength to walk away, across the courtyard, get back to school, without thinking about this night and longing to be here, all over again.

I rolled away, not getting anywhere, due to his arm holding me, but allowing me to have a better view of his face. The candle was behind him, so his face was shadowed, but I could still make out the smile, the gentle upturned lips that I now knew intimately. I reached up with my finger and traced the outline, pulling down gently when I got to the center of his lower lip, let it slide softly from my touch.

"Oh Carson," I whispered, finally feeling the urge to talk, hear his voice, share that verbal connection that had developed so easily between us. "What could we possibly do for an encore after tonight?"

I could feel her finger lightly tracing around my lips, her hand a shadow in the dimly lit room.

What could we possibly do for an encore after tonight?

Sliding my hand from her thigh, I wrapped it around the back of her fingers and softly kissed her palm. Moving them back down, I pressed our thighs together and let our hands fall on the crevice between our limbs. What could we do for an encore? That’s a good question, I thought to myself. By default, a repeat performance was supposed to come off as stale and monotonous. Somehow, though, I knew that anything close to what we had already done would never grow old. Just as two performance of the same symphony never sound exactly alike, I would never grow tired of what we had done.

“I’ll let you be the judge of that,” I said quietly. “Although personally, I think just holding you in my arms would qualify as a worthy follow-up.”

It didn’t matter whether she had already thought up any ideas, or would come up with any in the near future. Like everything that had happened so far: the impromptu performance in front of the window, the chance meeting in the parking lot, and all that followed had been unscripted. There was no way for either of us to know what would happen next, although we could certainly push things one way or another and hope for the best.

Shifting closer, I could feel her breasts rising and falling into my chest with each breath she drew. Adjusting my head, I moved it a little lower on the pillow to allow more light past me; the difference did wonders to draw out of features, each more striking than the next. Her body appeared to have finally returned to its normal state, the sweat evaporating and reigniting the desire for contact. As we curled together, our bodies conforming in a single mass of flesh, I pulled her into me and sighed, contently wrapped together with her.

Just feeling his arms around me, skin touching skin, breath so close, was certainly more than worthy. This was usually the moment the awkwardness sets in, making me fumble for words, say something stupid, or fall out of bed. I was so comfortable and content, all I could do was nod in agreement and revel in the sensation of his arms around me, pulling me close, holding me just so.

I pulled one knee up, nudged between his, so I could push the rest of my body closer to him. The perspiration that had coated us earlier and made us slippery had evaporated, but our skin slid together softly, angles finding indentions and melding into one another. The rhythm of his chest rising and falling matched with mine, and I felt like I was being rocked gently. I didn't want to assume I was invited to sleep over, but I didn't want to give him the idea I had better things to do, either. If he thought holding me like this was a worthy follow-up, who was I to argue?

"This judge likes your idea, and agrees this could be the best follow-up...ever," I answered him as I snuggled closer.

The fading candle light and the encroaching cool from the air conditioning made me want to stay right where I was and enjoy his warm touch on my skin, his breath against my hair. Morning would come soon enough, and with it the day to day responsibilities of life. Poor Shane had been left to fend for himself for the first time in a long time. I hoped he would be forgiving when I showed up to refill his kibble. As much as he seemed to be taken with Carson, I thought maybe he would be able to forgive me wanting to stay as long as Carson would have me. It had been a very long time since Shane wasn't the only man in my life. Next time, I would just have to play hostess so Shane didn't feel too left out.

When I felt her knee pressing against me, I lifted my leg and let her slip it into the opening. Closing my legs around her and holding her close, I felt like our bodies were beginning to melt together for the first time. I was no longer conscious of where my skin ended and hers began; only the steady beat of her heart and her chest's fluctuations kept me from believing that I had absorbed her.

"This judge likes your idea, and agrees this could be the best follow-up...ever."

I smiled, silently agreeing with her. If there was such a thing as karma, I must have done something outstanding to find myself where I was. I didn't know how long a "follow-up" was supposed to last, but it would suit me for this one to last forever. Of course, I knew that it couldn't. Despite how much I might wish against it, life would go on; I only hoped that she would be there.

Lifting my shoulder off of the bed, I reluctantly took my hand off of her and reached for the bedspread and sheet. Working them slowly down the bed, and trying not to disturb the position we had carved out together, I eventually got them under our feet. Pulling the cool cotton sheet up over us, the top falling just under our arms, I reached over and gently stroked her cheek.

"Can you stay, or do you need to go?"

It was something I probably should have asked before working the sheet down and over us, but every cell in my body was aching for her to stay. Part of me wanted to hang on to the euphoric feeling of our bodies nestled together for as long as I could. The rest was a nagging notion that if I let her leave, she would never come back. Despite knowing that such trepidation was silly, it still hung over me like a dark cloud. I almost regretted even including the negative option in the question, and framing it as a question to begin with. "Stay with me" would have been better, although I suspected her answer would remain the same no matter how I inquired.

I tried to lie perfectly still while he tugged at the bed covers. I was afraid if I moved the magic would be lost in the shuffle, somehow, and reality, the world outside, would find it's way in to our nest. I was relieved to feel the cool cotton sheet settle over me, while still entangled with him. The thin material felt soft against my skin as he tucked it gently around us. For another moment, at least, it would be just us and our new found happiness nestled together. I closed my eyes and urged my brain to capture it all while it was still fresh and new.

"Can you stay, or do you need to go?"

There it was, the question I knew he would ask, eventually. Can I stay? Sure, I don't have anyone to answer to about where I spend my nights, save for Shane, who usually sleeps at the foot of my bed. On the occasions I doze off on the sofa, he still usually ends up on the bed, not caring if I am there or not. So there is no reason, really that I can't stay.

Should I stay? The silent question I asked myself next, so hard to concentrate with his hand on my cheek, distracting me from everything but him. His fingers brushed against my face and all I could think of was how amazing his touch felt anywhere. I reached up and took his wrist, pulling his hand across my face, stopping when his palm was over my lips. I kissed him softly, along the line that started in the center of his hand and trailed to his wrist. My tongue took the place of my lips as I retraced that path, paused before moving from his palm to his outstretched fingers, licking my way to the tip of his middle digit. I wrapped my lips around tit tip and tasted him before I finally answered his question, with words. I was pretty certain he knew how I was going to respond, but a tiny bit of suspense might be in order. I hadn't exactly played hard to get. It might be time to play a little bit now.

"I don't think there's anything I need more than to be right here, right now. If you don't mind the company, I'd love to stay."

Then, I ran my hand up his arm, reached for his neck, pulled his face to mine, and kissed him. It was the kind of kiss my whole body had been craving since he wrapped me up next to him; slow, soft, engaging more than just our lips. How would I ever go more than a minute without this, this incredible sense of completeness I felt lying her next to him? I couldn't bear the thought, so I pushed it out of my mind, and let the feeling take over. Time for thinking would come later. Now it just didn't matter so much.

Her lips tickled my palm, her warm tongue slowly tracing the contours of my hand. When she slowly drew my middle finger between her lips, sucking on it gently, I nearly melted into the bed. Her eyes never left mine as her lips pursed around my finger, slowly pulling it over the top of her tongue.

"I don't think there's anything I need more than to be right here, right now. If you don't mind the company, I'd love to stay."

I wanted to tell her that the pleasure of her company was more important to me than anything in the world. Before I could say anything, she hooked her hand behind my neck and pulled me in for a kiss. Despite all of the caressing, touching and kisses already shared between us, it was still a mind-bending experience. Every possible point of contact between us was brought together. Our hands gently brushed across our bodies while our lips engaged, pressing together lightly. I trailed my hand back down her side, tracing the soft curve of her body and letting it fall on her hip under the sheet.

“I’ll never mind your company,” I whispered when our lips broke.

Not now, and not in a million years. I could feel her intermittent exhales blowing softly across my face, her frame slowly rising and falling under the sheet next to me. Turning to kiss her cheek, I let her head fall into the crook of my neck.

My eyelids were starting to feel heavy. I fought the feeling to close my eyes, knowing that doing so would take away my view of her. While I had committed more than enough images to memory, nothing could replace the look of her lying next to me. I knew that she would be the last thing that I saw before going to sleep, and reveled in the thought of her being the first thing I would see in the morning. I couldn’t think of anything better to wake up to…not even the sun rising over a wide landscape.

Reaching over to the bedside table, I felt around the surface for the candle. Lifting it up and over the bed, I held it close to take a final look at her face. With a smile, I blew it out and blindly put it back down on the table. While my eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness, my other senses were temporarily enhanced: the sound of her breathing, the feel of her skin against mine, and the vaguely familiar scent of her hair.

Never? Well of course that seemed not only possible, but certain, as I lay there next to him, still awash in this unfamiliar sensation of completeness. Still, we had only just met. A meeting like no other? Already established. Enough different to render me still. I didn't want to move a muscle, breathe too hard, do anything to upset the balance that seemed to hinge on him holding me close.

Tonight's a good start," I answered, my voice betraying my sleepiness.

Slumber, welcomed only 24 hours before, now seemed like an intruder. How could I appreciate his touch, his warmth, if I was not conscious? I blinked once, twice, trying my best to keep my eyes open. I watched as he reached for the table, found the candle, extinguished the light. The last thing I saw was his smile. It was imprinted beneath my heavy eyelids, and when I allowed them to close, that image remained.

My breath matched his with no effort from me. I felt the muscles in my back, my legs relax, stretch slightly as I gave in to the need for sleep. The notion that I would not wake up alone, that I would wake up in this same warm place, made it easier to slip off into that darkness. My last conscious thought was of the sense of peace that had settled over me and the slight ache that was already building. Just a day ago, this had been a vague thought in my mind, the physical sensation, anyway. The other feelings that wrapped around me and held me close were unexpected, magic I had no idea existed such a short time ago.

”Tonight’s a good start.”

“Mm hmm,” I whispered back.

As she stretched, I relaxed a little to accommodate her. I could hear a change in her breathing, feel the way her body rose and fell differently as sleep overcame her. I knew that sleep would come easy for me once I allowed it to. I was not only exhausted, but also comforted by her presence. Each blink of my eyelids was slower than the last, and each time they rose up a little less. My last thought before drifting off was how glad I was to have her next to me.

When my eyes slowly opened, I was on my back looking up at the ceiling. A ray of light from the window streaked across it, letting me know that the sun was up. My mind was suddenly flooded with the events of the previous night. Hell of a dream, I thought, smiling at how real it had seemed. When I rolled over to look at the clock, I saw the half-burnt candle sitting on the nightstand. My body slowly began to wake up: I could hear the soft breathing next to me, and feel the touch of skin pressed against my side. Rolling over, I realized that none of it had been a dream at all.

The revelation brought back the flood of emotions that had coursed through me the night before. Smiling, I sunk back down into the bed and gently lay my arm over her side. Careful not to disturb her, I let everything play back in my mind. The chance meeting in the courtyard, dinner, and everything that followed had all seemed like a chain of events that had to have been preordained. When was the last time life worked out that way, so perfectly?

Reluctant to pull her towards me and wake her, I slowly pulled my body up against hers, until our bodies were nestled together.

I had managed to look past the candle for long enough to know that it was a few minutes past eight in the morning. Normally, at this hour I would be up and ready to start the day. Given all that had happened, though, I decided that there couldn’t be any harm done by staying in bed a little longer.

Morning came, darkness turned to daylight, and the unfamiliar sensation of warmth against my body eased me from my dreamy half-awakeness. I let my mind have a few minutes to catch up, remember last night and how I came to be here. Carson. I smiled to myself, felt him move closer. I knew I should signal I was awake, but I wanted just a few more minutes to enjoy his presence without breaking the silence. I wasn't afraid of losing the magic, I simply wanted to appreciate his touch, the feel of his breath on my skin, while the memory of last night was still fresh.

The curtains shielded most of the sun's rays, but I could tell by the brightness it had to be 8, maybe 9 o'clock. What time had it been when I ran into him in the courtyard yesterday? had it really only been 24 hours since we touched for the first time, when he handed Shane to me? His hands were every bit as warm on my skin now as the had been then in the late morning air. I couldn't help but snuggle a little closer to him at the thought of how quickly and completely I had grown close to him. There had certainly been a big dose of lust at first sight, but that was just a part of what I felt. The sun wasn't the only thing making me feel warm.

I breathed in deeply, inhaling the faint lingering scent of the night's activities that permeated the air. Burned candle wax, the faint aroma of soap and other toiletries, dimmed by the warm smell of sweat and us tickled my nose and made me smile. Things to catalog, reminders of this night. I knew I would never see a candle and not think of him, or the urgency I felt to be close to him. I wondered what kind of plans he had for the day, if we had time to revisit where we left off last night before the day took us to our previous routines. Responsibilities, cats to feed, books to buy, all needed to be done before too long.

His arm draped over me at just the right place so I could wrap my hand around his wrist. I gripped it firmly, enough to let him know it was a deliberate, wakeful response to his body against me.

"I hope me being here isn't keeping you from anything important," I said.

Not that anything else seemed as important as getting up on the right side of the bed today. I was pretty sure we could manage that.

I could sense the change in her breathing as she woke up, feel the difference in the way her body rose and fell against me. When she squeezed my wrist, I knew that she was fully awake.

“I hope me being here isn’t keeping you from anything important.”

There was certainly a list of important things that needed to be done. However, there was nothing in the world more important to me than waking up next to her, and holding her in my arms as we slowly roused our senses from sleep. I knew that eventually we would have to part, even briefly, and that my bed would seem empty without her.

Tucking my chin against her shoulder, I gently kissed the soft skin that curved towards her neck. My hand slowly moved up and down her torso, lightly caressing her smooth skin.

“Good morning to you, too.”

Stretching, my body arching towards her to maintain contact while my legs pushed towards the foot of the bed, I smiled. I thought that it would be best to answer her question. After all, what we had to do was an important topic. Even more important was whether or not we could forego our plans in favor of more time together. Despite all that had been shared between us, I knew that there was much more left to learn; knowing every physical inch of her was only the beginning. What if you learn something you’d rather not know, dumbass, my head put forth. I knew, though, that it was worth the risk. After all, immediate connections couldn’t be forged if there was an invisible hang-up beneath the surface, could they? Even so, I was already convinced that some higher power had preordained our chance meeting; if that were the case, surely there wouldn’t be any hiccups.

“Nothing that can’t wait,” I said, smiling and tucking my chin a little further into her.

Still trying to wake all of my body up, I tried to recall the last time I had slept as soundly and thoroughly as I had the night before. Unable to do so, I narrowed down the reason to two possibilities. There was the obvious: pure physical exhaustion, the need to regain my drained strength. I suspected, though, that the true cause was her presence next to me, the comfort of knowing that she was wrapped safely in my arms. It was the same feeling that I had felt upon waking and realizing that everything in the past 24 hours had been real.

“So, did you sleep well?”

“Good morning to you, too.”
Well, yes, that was implied. Though, good didn't really even come close. Usually, I protest the start of a new day. It always seems to come too early, too abruptly. The light shines in and hits me in the eye, or Shane stands on my chest and demands to be fed. Today when I woke it was to the feel of Carson's warm body nestled against me, his warm breath soft on my neck. I felt a little resentful of the time I'd spent sleeping, unaware of his presence. But I felt rested, like I had slept peacefully for the first time in months. I was fairly certain there would be more mornings much like this one, worked in where life would allow. Right now, though, I was thankful for this one.

"Nothing that can't wait."
His body enveloped me a little closer as he spoke, and I could feel his expression change against my neck. I imagined him smiling, couldn't help but smile back, even though he couldn't see. I knew he could feel it when I arched back into him, pulled my knees up, drew him closer, by the way he responded in same, the contours of his body melding with mine. I was almost afraid to move further, speak more, for fear I would shatter the comfort of this cocoon. I knew I couldn't lie here forever, but I wasn't going to make any moves to bring on the end any sooner than necessary.

“So, did you sleep well?"
I brought his hand to my face, kissed his wrist, then his palm, the base of his fingers, back down to his wrist before I pulled his hand against me, rested it against my chest. My nipples, already semi erect from his proximity alone, stood at attention as his hand brushed them. Movements I knew would most likely bring him closer, which right now, was exactly what I wanted. More of that closeness we had forged last night. The craving for his touch was so much more than a physical longing. The thought of having to leave him for the day, for how long, I had no idea, was torture. But I wasn't going to let worrying about later interfere with enjoying right now. Carson was already having a good effect on my usually scattered brain. I felt soothed, relaxed, more with every warm breath I felt on my shoulder and neck. It was already a good morning, just because of where I was, who was with me.

"Better than I've slept in ages, Carson, maybe ever," I answered, and meant it.

I sighed quietly as she kissed her way up and down my hand, then guided my palm across her stiff nipple. I only regretted that my lips weren’t in place of my hand.

"Better than I've slept in ages, Carson, maybe ever.”

Covering her breast with my hand, I softly pressed my palm against her nipple. Her flawless skin was warm to the touch.

“That makes two of us.”

Despite my desire to envelope the bed in a sustaining bubble, allowing us to stay together and forsake everything else, I knew that wasn’t possible. Sooner or later, we would have to get up…and most likely sooner, rather than later. The inevitability of having to get up was the proverbial elephant in the room. Surely there would be an opportunity to wake up next to her again, but the question of when bothered me. Neither of us could completely abandon our other obligations, no matter how much we may want to. I knew, though, that I could survive getting out of bed so long as whatever happened next included her.

“So, what should we do next? Breakfast?”

Leaning over I kissed her, then traced her jaw line with my lips. Rounding over her cheek and behind her ear, I lightly nibbled on her earlobe. My fingers closed in on her chest, and I gently rolled her nipple between my thumb and index finger.

“Maybe a shower,” I whispered.

Wrapping my arms around her waist and pulling her into me, I rolled over onto my back and carried her with me. The sheet fell down around her waist as I pulled her on top of me; seeing her in the morning light reminded me of just how lucky I was.
