CBS News Is About To Change

Yes, we see you "playing on some point site thread" and laffing when you're told you're being an idjit

 It seems Lit has yet another deluded asshole thinking it's amusing to be an asshole.

It seems to me it's not the donations, but simply spinelessness in the face of President Trump's threat to back primary challenges to any Republican with an independent thought.
Its interesting to read how the congressional reps make $170,000 per year yet become millionaires during their time in congress. Peliso, Greene and others.

I thought the problem was that you had to be a multi-millionaire to get elected in the first place!

It sure is turning into that or have a billionaire buddy helping you out. With the caps on amounts and sources of the "donations" now opaque, what could go wrong? Plenty

The laws are there forbidding bribery. The system just needs people with spine to prosecute, from the town councilors up to the Presidential Library "gifts."

Not trying to be argumentative here (this time) but didn't the Soopreme Court throw out laws prohibiting bribery of government officials (and ONLY government officials) last term? Or did that just apply to bribery of foreign officials?

I think it was the USA's Foreign Corrupt Practices Act that was weakened. American companies committing crimes in foreign countries is now easier.

On the other hand, foreigners (like the President of Venezuela) allegedly committing crimes outside the jurisdiction of the USA are apparently being pursued enthusiastically by the Trump Administration.
