Chris stopped chanting and fell to his knees. He closed his eyes in pain as he visibly struggled with something, some force unseen. When he opened his eyes again. He was back to his normal self.

"Sorry....I didn't mean to threaten you. This is the effect of using too much magic at one time. It starts to take over."
 
I understand. I have seldom trusted magic users and the serpent soul is even less trusting of anyone but the warrior it is placed with. We can not even get it to trust.
