My friend somewhere in the US has major fun every single time she sees me online by getting me to guess her time. I know she is 13 hours away from me and behind me, but I end up guessing wildly off the mark every single time! What does it mean anyway - '13 hours away and behind'?

It's her f'd up way of saying 'there's 13 hours between us, and i am behind you'

I google time zones and the 1st website you hit on tells you the current time in all the capitals of the world and you can search further to figure out other places. I have various time DIFFERENCES between parts of Canada and here memorised, and i have I ingrained into me from childhood

I have a world clock on my descxktop, which helps somewhat.

I have a couple of writing partners, and I am just getting to know them. On is in New Zealand, one is in London, and I am in California. Between the three of us, we trisect the world pretty evenly. It's evening for one of us, wee hours of the night for another, and the third is in the middle of a workday.
