Challenge - How Distinctive Is Your Writing?

Length is 500 plus or minus, and the theme is?

LENGTH - no more than 500 words

THEME - Transportation (any method you like)

ENTRIES - PM to me by Monday night, I'll post the entries in a new thread Tuesday

GUESSES - A list will be posted on the thread with the entries including all participating authors with a couple of wild cards thrown in for good measure. Post your guesses on the thread. We'll give at least 24 hours for guessing, I'd think.

Seems to me there'd be two winners; the reader that guesses the most writers, and the writer that gets the most correct guesses from the readers.

Hmmm....as long as it's in before about 09:00GMT Tuesday, you should be fine. I'm pretty slow.

ETA: Since you're ahead of most of the rest of us, shouldn't that make it easier to make sure you're in on time?

Technically it should - but I also know I'm in front, so I get lazy and figure I've got more time than I actually have and end up missing it anyway.

Just how it comes out, it wouldn't really be fair to try to go out of your way to write in a different voice than usual.

I am presuming only the most familiar among the crowd here will enter. I doubt anyone knows my writing (only two stories so far), so though this sounds fun it seems silly for me to do. Or do you want a large mix? Hmm, I wonder if I'd get mistaken for someone else. What do you (the collective you) think?

That's half the fun of these things. And there should be a few of these exercises before we start losing interest again, so the more you participate, the more likely will be for your voice to be recognised.

In the past, I have truly sucked at guessing anyone's entries, no matter how distinctive their writing. There were some that I was dead certain of the writer only to learn I was dead wrong. Personally, I'm a "more the merrier" kinda gal. If nothing else, it'll likely get you a few more reads on your stories.
