The response is more armed citizens with CCWs riding trains and populating public spaces to legally dispatch these crazed animals when they go berserk and pull out a knife with the intent of harming somebody. And yet , people keep people acting the same judges , people keep electing the same mayors , people keep electing the same governors , this country has gone insane

Maybe, but not as many as needed in Blue states and cities. There are more people without CCW's riding those trains these days than you think.

How many people in California have CCWs? The Los Angeles County Sheriff is currently being sued by the Civil Rights Division of the DOJ for slow walking CCWs for up to 18 months to two years before issuance. Of the 40 million living there, I bet there aren't 100,000 with CCWs.No maybe about it. I teach CCW. There are a lot more unpermitted guns on public transit these days than you'd believe.
Because when it comes down to the point where the shit hits the fan, people choose having a gun to defend themselves over having a denial of the government required permission slip.
That guy in NY who just got convicted of having a non permitted gun so he could defend himself after being attacked on the subway? He's alive. His attacker isn't. 4 years of prison (which will be overturned on appeal) is nothing when those factors are considered.
Eventually, non permitted carry will become so common that what will happen is that no one is going to report what happened afterward. So even the possibility of going to jail will become a nullity.
The good that comes with it is that we'll stop seeing headlines in the news about how some multi-released violent felony offender stabbed/burned/murdered a defenseless woman from behind.
