Cheap Gas is BAD!

I would hazard to guess, that it is very bad for the heart, blood pressure, and general good health.

The mood at the oilfield companies here in Houston is very grim.

I know of two companies furloughing their "outer rim" junior field engineers beginning January 1st. Fairly nice severance packages, but as recently as ten months ago they were on a hiring binge.

What goes up, must come down.

Expected price of gas next summer here in Houston is around $1.80 per gallon.

That is about right...I hope I can afford to buy some!

Keystone Pipeline no longer makes economic sense

Canadian tar pit oil is the most expensive oil in the world to produce, and the Keystone pipeline was designed to help lessen the cost of transporting the sludge oil.

At current oil prices, it makes no economic sense to build the pipeline whatsoever.

This is a short term output peak. The life of a 'fracked' well is under two years, so by us allowing all of them online at once, it means we are using it as a weapon against Russia. So if that is the case the oil companies are working with President Obama to defeat a nation intent on doing damage to our interest.

The republicans will still push for the damn pipeline even though we don't need it now. Maybe it is the price Obama had to pay to get them to work against Russia.

This is just my opinion, I have no proof to offer.

Took investors a couple of weeks to realize what I said at the beginning. Money that does not leave the country to pad mid-east accounts is money that may be squandered, but it also may be invested. UPS is going to spend less on fuel, and can now buy a few more trucks. Like that.

Even the money consumers now have in their pockets instead of their fuel tanks should improve things in your local strip club.
