Could they're servers?


To be one of the chosen Oktoberfest servers is to be something a little more than human. It’s being capable of surviving a fortnight of the most grueling and underappreciated work. It’s a year’s worth of training—physical, mental, emotional—for two straight weeks of 12-hour days. On their feet, in a tent, under all kinds of pressure.


There are those who serve—who, no matter their size, must carry stein upon stein upon… just craploads of steins, ok? Each full Maß weighs over 2 kilos (4.4 pounds). Stack those up and each server is carrying about, oh, a million pounds of beer through an impenetrable crowd all screaming (And that’s what the whistles are for.)

Feeling hungry? The same people who bring you beer also bring you lunch and dinner—trays of heavy plates of heavy food piled high and carried over your head.

This is the legendary Silvia and she brings beer and food all day and night. Another hero.

The Munich Oktoberfest is the largest Volksfest In the world, held annually since 1810. Each year more than six million people visit Munich. The beer consumed at the Oktoberfest in Munich is a special brew, which is stronger than the standard brew and has an alcohol volume of up to six percent. Cities around the globe today hold Oktoberfest celebrations, which usually are a mixture of beer festivals and fun fairs.

Only beer conforming to the Reinheitsgebot, at a minimum of 13.5% Stammwürze (approximately 6% alcohol by volume) may be served at Oktoberfest. The beer must also be brewed within the city limits of Munich. Beers meeting these criteria may be designated Oktoberfest Beer.
The breweries that can produce Oktoberfest Beer under the criteria are:
  • Augustiner-Bräu
  • Hacker-Pschorr-Bräu
  • Löwenbräu
  • Paulaner
  • Spatenbräu
  • Staatliches Hofbräu-München
Oktoberfest Beer is a registered Trademark by the Club of Munich Brewers.

She's epic. It was the women in the previous post that looked a little thin to do the heavy lifting, let alone the drinking ...LOL
