Cheese

Sooo ... I went out today to a little place called The Cheese House. It's not a cheese specialty store, just one of those hole-in-the-wall type places. They offer lots of locally made stuff, along with cheap spices, various kinds of flour I can't find find anywhere else and some baked goods. And the deli has a selection of cheeses. While I was there, I picked up some goat cheese. Never tried the stuff before but I figured, why not?

I just tried a bit and now I can add goat cheese to my list of liked cheeses. Now I need crackers.

So many different types, from hard ages to soft fresh! That you like one is great, a lot of people are out of the 'goat' idea of taste but it's delicious to the rest of us ;). If you can add the name or a picture ( or google image ) of the cheese in question then people who know the cheese might be able to advise you on other cheese you can buy in your area that you might like to experiment with :)

I am really excited for you! Discovering your preferences in cheese is exciting! 🌹

The Cheese link opens a PDF. 1st item on Page 18. Not exactly easy to find.

Often, it's best that people taste stuff before they know what it is.

As I recall fata's fave is orange cheese in a spray can, licked from Phil's tummy.

*ducks*

:). It's one of my favourite types of cheese fresh goats, like lots of good fresh cream cheese, there is some ...grain not just whip texture one hopes.

Now you need to find Chèvre the next stage with a rind, still young, but with rind. As you know you like this texture you can go the same again, or look for texture more like Brie, which has more mouth feel, very beautiful. Your chevre is delicious on bread with honey and fruit...I prefer a fresh fig but grapes are good, a stone fruit too :) the meltier type are great along side a crisp apple or in a sandwich with apple or grape. :)

I just ate and that made me hungry. I suspect my only options will be online or a trip to Whole Foods. My Mom suggested Brie as well. Thanks for your input! :rose:

I bought some habanero cheddar because it was on a deep sale. It was good shredded on carnitas tacos.

But when I ate a couple of slices plain the next day - holy shit it is hot
