Cheney on MTP

Dunno.

They have no reason not to now, though.

Would it have been acceptable to use the same techniques on everyone who helped plan or participated in the bombings on Hiroshima or Nagisaki?

Yes

I'll give you credit for consistency.

In the past, I have also said it was understandable.....maybe not right, but understandable to jail Japanese in the US......one could argue that since they didn't do same to Germans was eye raising......

Innocent people are killed by drones all the time. This is war. It is horrible and sad. But it is an ugly fact.

Great false equivalency there, chuckles. You must've stayed up all night thinking of that one.

then you cant show me!

How am I supposed to show you a tv show that was on 8 hours ago?

FFS

Based on this, and your insistence of throwing out red herrings and inapplicable analogies, I assume you are waiting for your talking points to be posted on some wacky blog.

That's ok.

I'll wait.

I found it Savage

Here it is

Via TPM.

Host Chuck Todd asked Cheney to respond to the Senate Intelligence Committee report's account that one detainee was "chained to the wall of a cell, doused with water, froze to death in CIA custody."
"And it turned out it was a case of mistaken identity," Todd said.

"Right," Cheney responded. "But the problem I have was with all of the folks that we did release that end up back on the battlefield."

"I’m more concerned with bad guys who got out and released than I am with a few that in fact were innocent," he continued.

Todd pressed Cheney, asking if he was okay with the fact that about 25 percent of the detainees interrogated were actually innocent.

"I have no problem as long as we achieve our objective. And our objective is to get the guys who did 9/11 and it is to avoid another attack against the United States," Cheney responded.

Innocent? INNOCENT of what?....Mistakes happen...TOUGH

I agree with the TOTALITY of what Cheney said

He is 1000% correct....the real voice of EVIL is Savage et all

Via WFB:

Former Vice President Dick Cheney sat down with MSNBC’s Chuck Todd Sunday to discuss the responses to the recent Senate CIA report.

Cheney took issue with one individual from the United Nations, Ben Emerson, who has called for a criminal investigation.

“I have little respect for the United Nations,” Cheney said, “or for this individual who doesn’t have a clue and had absolutely no responsibility for safeguarding this nation and going after the bastards that killed 3,000 Americans on 9/11.”

Cheney argued that no crimes were committed, and that the report takes away from our main focus, which should be on the terrorists who are still active abroad.

“One of the things I’m really worried about is what this is doing long term,” Cheney said. “We’re still at war. The terrorists out there today are as bad as it was on 9/11. We’ve got ISIS talking about the United States having created a caliphate.”

Meanwhile, Democrats are “trashing a very, very good program that worked, that saved lives, that kept us from another attack,” Cheney said.

Pelosi, Democrats “Fully Aware” Of CIA Interrogation Techniques Outlined In Dem Senate Report

So you have to ask yourself, what is the purpose of the objections now except to try to control the CIA and impose restrictions that ultimately put us at greater danger?

WASHINGTON – The man who oversaw the controversial CIA interrogation program defended the use of the techniques used on militants — including waterboarding — and said members of Congress, including Sen. Nancy Pelosi, were “fully aware” of the methods used.

“She never objected to the techniques at all,” Jose Rodriguez, former director of the CIA’s National Clandestine Service, said on “Fox News Sunday.” “All of these techniques were approved by the lawyers.”

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., a former member of the Senate Select Committee on intelligence, and Karl Rove, a former White House adviser to President George W. Bush and a Fox News contributor, were also on the program.
