And most spend hundreds to thousands of their own dollars every year on classrooms and supplies and students out of their own pocket knowing it never will be repaid. Many would end up on the streets but they usually die still working.

I've been doing this for three decades and the one thing that is universally consistently true is that almost no one really understands the economics of public education, including most teachers and politicians. It's not that it's hidden or anything, it's just wildly complicated.

In Washington State the state got sued a couple decades ago for not funding education. It went to the supreme Court and the state lost and was declared it was their paramount duty to fully fund education. That was eight years ago. Most people can't even tell you the name of that case. Of the ones who can, almost none of them can tell you that the state found so many loopholes and wiggle room that they never actually paid more than 58%. Or that that number has gone down every year and this year they are paying 41%. Almost none of them know the over three dozen unfunded mandates the state has forced on districts while they continue to steadily give them less funding in general. And while most people can see inflation out there and if they sat and thought about it would realize that all their own bills that have gotten more expensive also applies to schools, they don't really have a scope of just how much that is.

You want to have a real discussion about these things? Fine. Get yourself at least semi educated about all of it before you open your dumbass pie hole. Because all this thread has shown here is that you don't know one fucking thing about anything and you should shut the hell up until you do.
