Clinton says she's open to being Obama's VP

Aside from the fact that I've really grown to dislike her over the last few months--Obama isn't going to choose based on what I think--a VP has to be, at base, someone you can imagine working with once you win, and someone who during the campaign can help you win voters you might have trouble with otherwise.

Hillary's unsuitability on the first point should be obvious. As far as the second point, Obama needs help with white women and Mexican-Americans; and someone who can help him nail down either Ohio or Virginia. Clinton might be able to help, but is she really the best person in the whole party for that task, considering her unpopularity with independents, and considering that she's spent months now saying flat out that Obama isn't qualified to be president?

WASHINGTON - Hillary Rodham Clinton told colleagues Tuesday she would be consider joining Barack Obama as his running mate, and advisers said she was withholding a formal departure from the race partly to use her remaining leverage to press for a spot on the ticket.

She rolled over quicker than Monica.

I think that's fan-fiddly-freakin-tastic. I hope they take the house.

So why is Hillary so unlikable? I feel it, too.

I will be completely disappointed should she be asked and should she agree to be the VP.

She would never conceed to being second fiddle. And Bill would never be able to leave Obama alone. It would suck in so many ways.

I completely agree. I think it would be chaos. I can see her stepping on toes and doing things behind the scenes to make trouble.

Obama has no reason to select Hillary as his running mate. The vast majority of the people who voted for Hillary in the primary will vote Democrat regardless of who's on the ticket.

Who Obama needs as a running mate is a 50-60 year old white male who's very popular in a swing state.

No way is she going to let anything, much less second-fiddle, get in the way of her '12 run...

She knows he won't be elected. I know he won't be elected. Even Dukakis was unbeatable at this point...

lolololol...

I think the first statement you made kinda addresses the question. If you can't see why she's unliked, then of course, it looks like a dream ticket...

Obama is scared to death of the Beast. She's going to get her way - whatever it is - or Obama is going down with her.

Jimmy Carter's "second" term...

Nancy in the house, Hillary in the Senate, and Michelle in the bedroom all arguing over possession of his testacles...

... and which woman would be the next best Presidential candidate...

the most O'bama is going to do it let her speak at the convention, O'bama may be left, but he ain't stupid.

It will never happing, for most of the reasons mentioned above. Mostky the ego conflict and Bill's big mouth.

If it did happen it would go down in flames. McCain has the leading edge in this one anyway and that would turn a win into a landslide.
