He was the first boy she had crushed on. As a girl in sixth grade she had made up her mind by the end of the day that he was "The One". Natania didn't know how old the boy was but she knew we was older then her and even perhaps older then her sister Cordelia. The fact that she didn't know his name or anything about him didn't change the fact that she like-liked him.

The boy next door.

"He he he he." Nat giggled watching out of her bedroom window as the boy and his family unpacked the moving truck.

"What are you giggling about?" Demanding Cordi stomping into her little sister's room.

"We have neighbors." Sighed Nat as she leaned on the window sill to gaze dreamy after her soon to be boyfriend. He of course didn't know it yet but in time he would be and then from there they would live happily ever after. "Oh!" He had just walked out and back to the truck to grab another box. "Look there he is!"

"Who?" Cordi sat aside her sister in the window seat to look at the window expecting to see the most dreamy of dreamy. "Him?" She chuffed pointing and pressing her fingertip to the warm window.

"Yeah him. Who else do you see. Isn't he wonderful?"

Like the mean big sister that she was Cordi stood up laughing at her sister. "He looks like a dweeb." And with that Cordi swayed out of the room thrown her hair back over her shoulder as she crossed through the doorway.

~~~
That had been the first time Nat had seen Cullen and while many things may have changed what didn't was her feelings towards him. But that didn't matter anymore because he had started going out with her sister sometime back and that made him off limits.
Or did it?
Her mother had just told Nat that her sister had called and confirmed that she would be at the lake house and would be bring Cullen. It had been years since she had last seen her sister and even longer since she had seen Cullen. To say that Nat was excited was, well it was the truth.
The last time she had seen Cullen she was a scrappy tomboy with no curves at all. That had changed. She was still very petite but now she had a swelling DD chest that tapered down to a tiny waist before it flared out with that soft sexy curve of a hip.
"Natania!" Her father's voice echoed through the house up to her room on the second floor.
"Yeah?" She didn't know what her dad wanted but she stood up from behind her desk and skipped from her bedroom and down the stairs looking for her dad.
She found both her parents standing together by the front door with smiles on their faces. "Yes?" Nat asked casually looking from one grinning parent to another.
"Remember that deal we made when you were 15?" Her dad asked the smile growing.
When she was 15? She and her dad liked to strike a lot deals but the one that stuck out in her mind was the college and car deal. "No way!" Nat shouted excitedly getting ahead of herself. When Cordi had turned 16 she had gotten the car that she had wanted just because she wanted it but in the four years between them by the time Nat was 15 their family's financial situation had changed enough that Nat wouldn't be able to get a car for a while and that's where the deal came in.
Her parents had started a savings account for her when they found out that they were pregnant. When Nat turned 15 and started to hint at a car when she turned 16 he made a deal with her. Whatever she saved in scholarships to college they would match in the cost of her car. So it was no surprise to her parents when she was given a full four year ride to the college of Nat's choice.
"Now, now." Her father frowned putting his hand up to encourage his daughter to calm down. "I know you wanted one of those mini cooper convertible..." He dragged on his face falling.
"Oh Nathan." Her mom swatted her dad's arm shaking her head. "Stop teasing her."
"Well, just go see for yourself." He tossed a set of keys to Nat and she caught then noticing at once the logo.
"Dad... Mom..." Nat clutched the keys to her heart and stood rooted to the stop fighting back emotions.
Together they opened the double front doors and there in the driveway was her custom built dream mini cooper convertible. The blue shined in the morning light and as Nat slowly approached her new car she could see that it had everything she wanted from the checked board floor mats to the leather cloth seats.
"Heated front seats, automatic climate control and upgraded speakers." Her dad pointed out proudly. He knew his daughter and knew what he wanted. It also helped that he left his laptop in the kitchen open to the mini cooper build your own and Nat had invited herself to customize it. It had been a trick and when he walked into the kitchen she had quickly closed the page. But it was saved under his history and all it required him to do was order it and wait.
"It has everything. Everything." Tears welled up in her eyes and Nat quickly turned to hug her dad, hiding her face in his chest. "Thank you." Nat had figured she would get a standard mini convert at most. That she had her dream car down to the stem caps. Her mom joined the hug and it became a group hug.
"You going to take it for a test drive?" Her father didn't need to ask and like that the group hug was over and Nat was backing out of the driveway with a huge smile on her face. She couldn't wait to show off her car or see Cordi's face when she drove up to the lake house in it.
Cullen Blanchard stood in front of the mirror of his room, wondering what had changed. He and Cordi used to be so good together, but recently things had changed. Maybe it wasn't even recent. He sighed as he got ready for the drive over to the lake. Cordi wanted to see what her younger sister had done, as they hadn't really talked in a few years. He didn't know why that was the case, but he just shrugged it off.
His family moved into the neighborhood when he was in high school, and had been really into computers. He had gotten to the point where he could pretty much do whatever anyone asked. When Nathan O'Donoghue heard about it, he asked for help. That had been when he had met Nat, and then Cordi. What was odd was that he was actually better friends with Nat at first. The more time that he spent helping Nathan, the more he got to know Nat, and the more he treated her like a regular girl, even if he was close to 6 years olde than her.
Then Cordi decided that she wanted him, and he didn't really even know what hit him. They had been together for about 4 years, but only two of them were fun. The last two years, he just wasn't sure what was going on. And now this, the graduation party. He hadn't seen Nat in 4 years, and Cordi decided she was going to drag him to the party.
He sighed, running his hands through his short hair. He had made changes since last seeing Nat, and wondered what she'd think. He'd started working out, got more fashionable glasses, and started to take pride in his looks. Cordi had just grunted about it being time for that, and then just left him alone. He sighed, wondering what his old best friend had been up to, before grabbing the keys to his truck and heading out to the living room to wait for Cordi to get there.
Four hours later and the city and all signs of human life were behind her. Trees soared over the winding roads and wildlife scattered at the sound of a coming car. The lake house was one of Nat's favorite places on earth. The quite and beauty of the place never failed to ease all her worries away.
The lake house had been where her Dad and all his siblings were raised. At one time it was just a small wooden cabin barely big enough to fit her grandparents and all their children but over time that too had changed. The Home cabin had expanded to a massive central building with a kitchen that could hold enough food and kitchen equipment to supply an army, a dining room big enough to hold a table for twenty and a family room with a fireplace and seating also sized to fit the entire family. The original kid's bedrooms had stayed the same and untouched but the grandparent's room hadn't. The transformation from shoe box to master suite was impressive. And the bathroom attached was to die for.
As the family grew so did the need for more space and instead of building on to the Home cabin children of Henry and Clara ended up building log cabins of their own. None to the grandeur of the Home cabin but large enough to be comfortable for the family's size. And since there was seven of them the cabins had been named about the seven dwarfs.
"I've missed this place." Nat sighed getting out of her car to stretch. She had made it her before her parents and took the chance to snag the parking space closest to the door. "Hey Bashful." She greeted the cabin with a fond smile. As they were the smallest family, there only being two kids the cabin reflected that in size with it's three bedrooms and one and a half bath. Looking around Nat clearly saw that she was the first one there. Somehow pleased with knowing that, though she had envisioned driving up so Cordi could see her new car and her face filled with envy, she turned towards the lake where the Home cabin was. It had the best views but more importantly it was where and grandpa and grandma would be.
"Gramps!" Ever the hard worker it wasn't a surprise to find her grandparents in the garden tilling up the soil. "Grams." Nat ran over to join them as they stopped to see who called out to them. "Couldn't you have waited to do that? I would have done it for you." Even at their old age they still did everything on their own, never asking for help.
"Oh we know." The gravely voice of her grandpa warmed her heart and he wrapped her up in a hug.
"Where are your parents?" Grams asked as Nat was passed from gramps to grams for a hug.
"I drove up by myself. They should be here in a few minutes." Her grandma always smelled like lavender and when she hugged her Nat breathed deep. "I've missed you." She whispered knowing that both her grandparents had heard. True she had seen them just a few months ago but it still felt like far too long for Nat. Family was everything to her and she couldn't want to see everyone in the family but her. "Here let me help." Nat offered taking off her buttoned cowgirl plaid shirt. Underneath she wore a simple white cami tank, her cutesy light blue bra barely visible through her shirt but doing nothing to hide the new size of her chest.
"Here take this." Her grampa handed her a long narrow shovel and knowing what was asked Nat went to work.
Cullen groaned as he listened to Cordi. She had stormed into his house, complaining about god only knew what. He just listened to it, as the stream seemed to grow and grow. He didn't pick up names he knew, so it wasn't about going to the lake. It sounded liked she was having issues at college. 2 years out of it, and he was still dealing with those problems. It always seemed that way with her.
"Babe, what can I do to help?" he asked, not really sure he wanted to hear the answer. Usually it entailed him "helping" her with her work, which meant he did it and then tried to explain it to her.
"Nothing, because you don't even get my major"
Cullen sighed, exasperated by the whole thing. While it was true that he didn't get why she went into fashion and merchandising when she had never showed a talent for designing clothes. He waited, before fixing a glass of water for himself. He had graduated with honors, and gotten a Master's, in 4 years through his college's computer science program.
"We need to go," Cordi huffed at him, grabbing her things and storming out of the house. Cullen just groaned, before grabbing his keys, wallet, and phone. He locked the door behind him, before making his way to his truck.
After opening the door and helping Cordi in, he climbed into his seat. He looked over at Cordi, before sighing and starting his truck.
"Buckle your seatbelt or we aren't going anywhere."
Cordi heaved an annoyed sigh, before clicking it into place. Cullen backed out, before starting the long drive to the lake house.
A half an hour later and her parents showed up wth three cars being them. They must have ran into each at the last gas station because she knew her parents weren't that far behind her. As it was Nat counted herself lucky because she had just finished that last of the bunny fence post holes and wasn't looking forward to haulin the rolled up fence from the outbuilding to the garden.
All that had to wait of course as everyone got their hugs and hellos in. Just as the last hellos were finishing up more cars pulled in and the whole process started all over again this time with added small talk since this group hadn't been part of the initial group who first ran into each other at the gas station. So far half the family was here and with a break in the rush of cars and hellos Nat grabbed her cousin Troy and made a mad dash to the outbuilding not knowing how long the pause would last.
In the short time that Troy and Nat were gone getting the fence and posts her uncle Matk and his family had showed up. Round three of hugs and hellos started and Hanna another cousin three years younger then Nat made a big deal laughing and squealing about how gross Nat was because she was sweaty and dirty. Laughing in good humor Nat gathered Hanna into a bear hug and squeezed tight.
"How's that? Is that better?" Nat shouted over the high pitched laughter of her cousin.
"You're such a boy!" Hanna managed between laughs as she wiggled out of Nat hug.
"She doesn't look like one." Pointed out Drew, Hanna's older brother and the same age as Nat.
"Not anymore. Gosh Nat you could've saved the titanic with those things." This time it was from Clark her Aunty Cindy oldest son. He was the same age as Cordi and the one who used to babysit Nat when she was younger.
"Boys!" Scolded Aunty May as she wagged a finger at them.
"Oh! Busted!" Nat mouthed as their Aunty May ganged up with Clark's mom to lecture them on what was and wasn't appropriate conversation topics with family. "Come on Troy let us good kids finish up with the keep out bunny fence." Nat said loud enough that both aunts could hear. It was just the thing to get them the 'why don't you' speech as the two cousin smiled and pushed posts into the ground.
It didn't take Nat and Troy very long to put but the garden fence but with the full sun out and a very light breeze they both had worked up a sweat.
"I think I'm going to go change." Troy muttered after getting a look at himself. "You good here?" He asked before leaving.
"Yup. Just got to put the shovel away. Go change before more cars show up." Nat advised walking backwards to the shed so her cousin would still be able to hear her.
Troy nodded once then turned and headed to the Doc cabin built for his parents, four siblings and him.
Out of the two Troy has been more sweaty but Nat has somehow managed to get dirt all over her tank top and thanks to Alex she had leaves in her hair. Nat really wanted to change but hated the idea of changing into clean clothes when she herself was still dirty.
So Nat decide to wait and make whatever family remained suffer. If they wanted clean none sweaty leafy hugs that should have shown up early. Still she ran to her car baby wiped herself down, put on more deorderant and spritzed a little body spray on. Totally forgetting her shirt that she left hanging in the tree closet to the garden.
Cullen smiled as he pulled up to the lake properties. He had spent a few good memories with Cordi, as well as her family, up at the lake. Unfortunately, things like that hadn't happened after he left for college. It seemed like Cordi suddenly became all about partying, and then being with the whole "it" scene. She kept trying to get him to take her to these clubs, or parties, even though he had work in the mornings.
After finding a place to park, Cullen opened up Cordi's door, happy he kept things relaxed with his clothing, instead of getting all dressed up like Cordi. He sighed as he helped her across the uneven ground, wondering why she was wearing heels, and so much make up. He kept his gift for Nat under his arm, while practically holding Cordi up.
"Hey Bashful," Cullen said quietly as they entered the cabin, remembering all the fun times he had. He set Nat's package down next to the others, before moving back through the house to the back door. Once out, he stepped outside, leaving Cordi to fend for herself. She probably still had flats in the cabin somewhere, and he didn't need to wait hand and foot on her.
He saw a mini cooper convertible, with someone he didn't recognize in the back. He stood waiting, before stepping up. His jaw dropped when he recognized it was Nat. She had grown up! He smiled, before stepping up behind her, softly saying, "Hey Bug," using his nickname for Nat.
Nat knew that voice and all at once butterflies and knots turned her stomach and her heart raced. Trying to find some shred of control Nat took a deep breath in before turning to face the man she still dreamed of. "Oh," It wasn't that she wasn't far too excited to see him but Nat hadn't expected him to be so close. As she turned she had pushed away from her car and it drought her fairly close to Cullen. "Cullen." Nat hated the way his name came out sounding all girlish and breathy like, as if she had just ran a marathon. Her solution to the problem? A hug.
Knowing that this was her sister's boyfriend she resisted the urge to pull herself against his body as tight as she could. True Nat felt like Cordi had stolen him because she full well knew how she felt about him but that was an old story and a fresh scab best not to pick at. Still with any hug there was contact and with her full 'F' cup breasts there was no way he couldn't feel how firm yet pleasantly soft they were.
"How are you?" Nat asked stepping back after the lingering hug. She couldn't help it, his body was warm and harder. He had also changed or so it would fell because there were more muscle bulk to his hug then she had remembered. "It's nice to see you again." Nat backed up a little more, her skin felt too warm and her brain was misfiring and blanking out. "Hi." Nat sighed as she backed into her car and stumbled, reaching out to catch the sides knowing that her act of cool was blown.
Suddenly it didn't matter that she had changed, that she had boobs or that she now knew how to apply make up because Nat was once again that geeky dumb stuck little girl who followed Cullen around and did everything she could to make him smile at her. Good job Bug. She lectured herself in her head. Way to play it cool. Her voice inside her head shouted. You really are a bug...
Outwardly Nat smiled and acted as if everything was all good and that she didn't feel like some kind of fool. Will running away be an uncool thing to do? Nat asked herself. "Well, um... You know I was in the middle of helping out so I better get back..." Nat muttered flashing a big smile as she slid along the car's side as she made her escape. "I'll catch up with you later?" She nodded her head and backed up feeling free now that the car wasn't behind her anymore. Now was the time to bolt and Nat turned with every intention to do so.
Cullen enjoyed the hug with Nat. He had noticed she changed, but he figured that she would. She had been a young girl when they last saw each other, and now she was all grown up. If he was being honest with himself, he would even say that she had a better figure now than Cordi ever would. He shook his head, banishing the thought. Even if the relationship was on the rocks, he would still remain faithful.
"I'm doing good. Job, house, living the dream," he said with a chuckle. He could see he still had the same effect on her as always. He didn't know if she was clumsy around just him, or if it was with everyone, but he always seemed to catch her off guard, or possibly even knock her off guard.
As she backed up, he took a step forward, determined not to let her escape. That had been part of the game he played when they were both younger. She would always seem to mess something up around him, and then would try to run. She would usually get away, but he did get better and catching her.
"How are you, now that you're all done with school?" he asked, before putting his arms around her waist as she turned. He pulled her back into him with a smile, before softly saying, "You gotta stop running from me, Bug. Otherwise, we'll never figure this clumsiness I cause out," he said with a genuine smile.
He let go of Nat, before stepping back a little bit. He looked her up and down one more time, before shaking his head. "It seems like you and I both did a little growing up. I can remember the awkward girl that I last saw, and now look at you. You're absolutely gorgeous. Then again, you always were," he said with a smile, before rolling a shoulder. He had slept on it wrong, and it was acting up just a little.
"If you'd like, I can help you with what you were doing," he said, looking for a way to stay out of Cordi's clutches. It seemed like whenever they were around Nat, Cordi tried to flaunt that she had a boyfriend. Cullen never felt good about it, and always tried to find ways out of it.
Nat nodded along to his answers, her heart picking up speed when he stepped closer. He was like a gray hound and she was a little bunny, all she wanted to do was flee but he knew what was going on and he stopped her by wrapping his arms around her waist. It wasn't just that, as if him touching her like that wasn't bad enough he had to pull her towards him and what she had been trying to get away from.
"I-" Nat sighed in his arms at the sight of that smile. Her heart melted and she gazed up at his face, into his eyes before he let her go. She had to fight not to frown and get upset that she could no long feel the warmth of his body near hers. His eyes scanned over her body and she caught it that time, blushing that he would look at her that way and worried that she didn't look cute enough.
"I wasn't." That he called her gorgeous now was a given, Nat wasn't vain but she had a mirror and eyes but saying that she was once ago. It wasn't true and she felt like the silly little girl again, this time more self conscious then giggly. "That was Cordi, remember." The way Nat said her sister's name gave more then a hint at how she felt about her older sister. "The gorgeous one..." That said under her breath but no matter how pretty Cordi was on the outside Nat knew what she looked like on the inside.
Nat paled at the offer. It had been a lie. She didn't have anything she needed to do and her brain scrambled to something, anything. "The, um..." Ah fail! Nat gnawed on her bottom lip thinking. OH! "The boat house!" Again with the lies. "The paddle boats needs to be cleaned. And the row boat needs to be checked over." No one ever wanted to do that job and the chances that everyone had said no to it and there wasn't someone over there already to make her a liar rocked in her favor. The job itself wasn't a hard one but there were a lot of corners that the algae was likely to be growing that need to be scrubbed clean. Then there was also the bottom of the boat, they had to make sure it was still sound and there wasn't any cracks, check the paddles and make sure they still turned... okay the job took forever but it was a job Nat was willing to bet on. "You know how it is..." Nat wasn't sure if he did. It had been forever since he had been out and she couldn't remember if he had ever gotten stuck with boat duties. "It'll take forever and I'm a big girl now." She sang with a smile on her face. "So stay here, drink some iced tea and just relax." Nat told him offering him an out and halfway hoping that he would take it.
Cullen smiled as he heard she had to clean the boat house. He hadn't been assigned to that, but he had cleaned other areas of the lake. He had definitely done the gardening a few times, and had helped clean the cabins. He smiled at the thought of getting away from Cordi for a bit, before nodding.
"Honestly, I'd rather help you. I can to hang out with people," he said, before leaning closer to to Nat. "I'd rather not be shown off either. Cordi tends to make that a habit when we have been out in public lately," he said quietly.
He looked at his clothes, happy he hadn't worn anything he wasn't afraid to get dirty. He also had a few changes of clothes in the truck, so was okay to go. "You lead, and I'll be right beside you," he said, wondering what all they would need to do to get the paddle boats up and running. He didn't want to limit anyone from having fun while on the water.
Nat was torn between feeling overjoyed that Cullen would be staying with her and sick with fear that she wouldn't be able to control herself. She liked this man, okay it was a little more then just like but she wasn't even prepared to acknowledge that to herself, and she had felt this way about him since she first spied on him years ago. Nat had even managed to lie to herself, told herself that she was over him but seeing him again brought back everything she felt and showed her that they weren't as gone and she had hoped.
When he leaned in Nat didn't move. She held her breath and time seemed to slow. In her head he didn't stop leaning into her and she closed her eyes feeling his breath on her face just moments before his lips pressed against hers. It was a fantasy but with his body that much closer it did put him within touching distance and with a particularly deep breath her breasts brushed against Cullen's chest. Nat's whole body felt alive with that one little graze, thought all those layers of clothing and the smile that she had on her face did nothing to hide the fact that her deep breath was unnecessary yet fully enjoined.
Snapping to herself, Nat could only imagine how she looked to Cullen and stepped back, her smile fading as she realized how stupid she had just been. Maybe he won't notice it. Didn't notice it? Would never notice it... She rambled in the safety of her own mind. "I'll race you." Nat blurted needing to change something, anything as long as it kept her at a proper distance from Cullen. "On three." And without even counting Nat took off shouting three behind her shoulder as she cheated and got a head start towards the boat house.
Cullen stared at Nat, shaking his head. Same old story it seemed. She always seems to cheat, and then I still catch up, he though to himself, before taking off. He easily caught up to her, before scooping her up in his arms like he used to always do. He quickly made his way down to the boathouse, still carrying her, before spinning right before getting to the door.
He stopped, before setting her down. "I think I won that, as I touched the door first," he said with a grin, remembering all the times they had played that game. She'd take off, he'd catch and carry her, and then keep her from reaching wherever they were going first. He looked into the boathouse before groaning softly to himself. It was a mess.
"You tell me what to do, and I'll follow directions," he said, turning back to Nat with his customary smile. He stood easily, waiting for directions. He hadn't ever cleaned the boathouse, or worked on any of the boats that were used, but he was willing to help, and knew Nat would give him good directions.
