Click on "User CP" on the upper left part of any Lit page, then on "Edit Avatar". You may be confusing the "Profile Picture" feature with the "Avatar" feature. Many people use the same image (in different sizes) for both, so it's easy to confuse them! Sometimes folks have problems getting files small enough for avatars, there are lots of threads in the How-To area on that, or just ask an experiences friend for help.
