Just back from the hurricane shelter on Monday and we got our electricity turned on here late last night.
Luckily we dodged another bullet so only "damage" was tossing everything in the refridg out in yesterday's garbage.

I'm unfortunately disappearing for about 2-3 weeks.

I would like the opportunity to return to the thread if it's still running when I return, but I recognise it's going to be awkward to write around me. At last post I left Alan out in the dark trying to be hidden.

Possible ways of getting me out without taking me out would be for me to get hopelessly lost and wander. However as we're being probed by natives at the moment, it might be a good opportunity for a captive raid. I could be taken prisoner and held as possible ransom material later.

What do you think?

Just as an aside...God and Ivan willing I fly out of Nassau next Wednesday to attend an event in Maryland. I'll be away from the keyboard from the 15th through the 20th, then back in MN by the evening of the 20th. I'll need about 48 hours to pull things back together..so..15th through the 22nd I'll be offline.

Thanks to the wonders of wireless networking and clueless/generous neighbours I managed to piggyback some connectivity today on the laptop.

Tomorrow KPN and I will hammer out the details of some official ADSL resourcing, and I imagine that I'm still going to be, if not away then at least sketchy attendancewise for a good week or two yet. Sorry all.

If Erin decides it would be fun to take a prisoner then she should feel absolutely empowered to do so using Alan. Please don't lop any bits off - I might want them later!

If not, then he'll go on a recce and be back when I'm back. Alas I'm unlikely to be able to actually liaise with someone enough to organise anything.
