Sex and music

I know this post isn't really on topic, but I thought it might be cool to start building community among the colorado lit group before we meet by having some interesting discussion.

I'm a musician, and I'm also really into sex. The funny thing is how similar the two are for me. Most people don't think that sex and music are really that related, but I find that many of the emotions and sensations that I feel when playing piano are very similar to the emotions and sensations I feel when having sex. Certainly there are some differences for me, of course... but I'm curious, does anyone else have this experience? What do you think?

Music is sensual

I don't play an instrument, but music is very sexual. People use music as a way to express the way they feel, so of course that sexual undertone comes out. That's probably why I like Jazz and R&B so much, every one complains that R&B is always about sex...well what the hell is wrong with that? There are songs that just make you want to take your clothes off. A vast majority of the songs on the sliver soundtrack make me want to get naked. Or All of Me on Billie holiday's Love Songs...hmm tons. I can understand, I have gone places and heard people play and there was that one song that was so intense it got my panties all wet. Ha ha well at least I'm honest

I totally agree, that music can just give you such a feeling. I have totally gotten chills just hearing music, when its a song that touches you, either by lyrics, or melody, or a beat. Its just so cool. Good topic guys!!

I totally agree... Revel's Bolero always gets us turned on. And there was a song from the 80's called "I Want To Be Your Toy" that was the theme song in one of our all time favorite porno tapes, "Randy, The Electric Lady" starring Desiree Cousteau. I can never hear that song without flashing to some of the most erotic scenes in the film...

I agree that music and sex can produce many of the same sensations and emotions. But the only instument I'm playing nowadays isn't included in the orchestra.....althought my "drum" gets beat.....my "flute" gets blown......my "woodwind" can be like wood.....you all get the picture.
Anyways, I've been so swamped in work, haven't had much of a chance to be on the site much, but I do look forward to meeting everybody in a couple weeks. Should be a hootin hollarin time.
