It had been ages since she actually walked through any type of trails or woods, Kelly's time usually spent in the city over the last 19 years... So the tour given by Carson was certainly nice in more ways than one. A wonderful view, yes- and the company, as odd as the situation revealed to her may have been- was wonderful as well. It was nice to have a guy talking with her that WASN'T her son. And every time he reached out to help her with the path, it sent a shiver straight down her spine.
Good lord... This man is- I have my own sort of mountain man in my backyard...
Her thoughts drifted to the cheesy romance novels her own mother ysed to read, stories of the insanely handsome woodsman that swept the lonely woman off her feet and made passionate love to her in the depths of his beloved forest. A light giggle left her lips at the thought, quickly shaking her head to dismiss it as Carson gave her a curious glance. You don't want to know. Ohhh, you don't want to know...
Every little piece he showed her, the tiny details she never would have noticed on her own, the things he knew about animals showing their presence- the scrapes on trees, the marks in dirt, even the tiny tears in leaves.... All of it fascinated her, especially the passion he seemed to hold for it. He wasn't lying when he said how important this place to him...
She jumped slightly as he brought her to a halt, nodding as he placed a finget on his lips and gestured to come closer. Sneaking up beside him, she drew a soft breath as he wrapped an arm around her to point ahead. She didn't even care what was over there, simply that he didn't move, but she did peek as best she could, shivering as he whispered to her.
She spotted it then. A movement of fur, creeping out from a hole beside the old fallen tree. It looked almost like a rabbit, a bit like a mouse, and left a little coo from Kelly's lips. The sound came again as a trio of tiny little heads mirroring the first popped up, a pack of babies climbing out to follow. "Oh they are so adorable...," she breathed, starting to take a step back- only to collide with his chest, her body pressed up against him. "oh-! Sorry- I was trying to get over that wood and-" she pulled away hastily, turning around to look at him.
"The woods are yours, Carson. I have no intent on causing them harm or anything of that sort. Perhaps we can... Make a little deal." She smiled softly, taking in his expression. God, the look in his eyes- nature was truly a passion for him, wasn't it? "I'll share the house resources with you as well, if you do some things for me in return. Nothing outrageous. Its just that my son is simply on leave for the time being, and- well. Sometimes you need help from a guy around the house. I'll even make dinner every Saturday. What do you think?"
