Something I want to share with you...

I like to spend some time in Mozambique
The sunny sky is aqua blue
And all the couples dancing cheek to cheek.
It's very nice to stay a week or two.

There's lots of pretty girls in Mozambique
And plenty time for good romance
And everybody likes to stop and speak
To give the special one you seek a chance
Or maybe say hello with just a glance.

Lying next to her by the ocean
Reaching out and touching her hand,
Whispering your secret emotion
Magic in a magical land.

And when it's time for leaving Mozambique,
To say goodbye to sand and sea,
You turn around to take a final peek
And you see why it's so unique to be
Among the lovely people living free
Upon the beach of sunny Mozambique.

- Robert Zimmerman

I take it Bob Dylan wrote that before the wars in Mozambique

How you doing tonight Vicky?

beautiful places

I have been lucky enough to have traveled around the globe. I've seen many beautiful places in my life. I think of all the places I've been, Big Sur is probably one of the most beautiful places on earth.. It's unlike anywhere else, and it's beauty is unsurpassed. Germany was wonderful as well. Of course I'm a mountain person too.

I'm a mountain person as well. Mainly because I was born and raised in Wyoming which is in the northern half of the American Rockies. It's 44th State to join the Union of the United States in 1890 and the 1st state to allow women the right to vote.

I've been to every state, on vacations, west of the Mississippi River except for Alaska.

I'm planning to go back to Hawaii (Oahu actually) in a few months. I have several friends that live there.

I went to Hawaii for my first honeymoon. It was nice, and I liked it, but to me, it didn't compare with N. Calif.. I was in the Marines, and most of the places I've been, outside the US, I didn't have much time to really get out and see. I've been through nearly every state. When I did galmour photography, I would travel alot. Still I love the mountains. In Hawaii, I thought Maui was best, as it was less crowed with hotels and resorts. That's the problem with such places. The landscape is hidden by the resorts.

ironic

It's ironic that we would be talking about beautiful places, when the town I live in is called Beauty....

Yup Mozambique is a very beautiful country and has a coastline of over 2500km of white sand and warm blue waters.

Just as long as you dont decide to go exploring Mozambique on your own and go off the beaten track, as there are still an estimated 2 million unexploded landmines in the country.

Although that's not quite as bad as Angola where there are an estimated 10 million unexploded landmines.

Ohhh and just some other info. Since the end of World War II around 500 million landmines were laid around the world. There are still around 100 million unexploded landmines worldwide.

Now look at this beauty of Mozambique.....stunning

Great pics. But, Mozambique looks like Hawaii in those pics.

Yes, it is on the eastern coastline of Africa, south of the equator.

that is me sitting on top of the world... Or at least as high as I could get at the time...pun intended... It was taken in China some six years ago. That was a wonderful trip.
Speaking of images to carry around with me... they've now been replaced with something much more beautiful... Your image.
