I meandered over to my story page to check out anything new. I was shocked to find this guy: Bodie_Solo within an hour put 2/3rds of my stories on his favorites list. I've run into this before, but not at the volume this guy did and all within an hour! Anyone else see this kind of thing? Any guesses on why anyone would do this? According to his profile, he's got something like 130,000+ stories favored. WTF???

I get that periodically. I think a lot of people find an author they like and favorite everything as a reading list. Some of mine have gone through my entire catalog, even leaving copious comments. Not a bad thing.

I genuinely hope he gets to reading your stories! But I just know from personal experience, I add stuff to my Netflix queue all the time without an expectation to watch it right away, or sometimes ever.

Yes. Same guy, same action. I don't think he knows what "Favoriting an Author" does,he seems to think you need to fave every story. Damned if I know what he does with what must be the world's biggest list. It's very odd, even peculiar.

He's got twenty-one fetishes listed, if I counted correctly, plus "many more." I suppose "warn panties" and "warn hosiery" means warn-out - with holes in them, for example. I guess garments in good condition don't do anything for him. He doesn't list poverty as a kink, however.

I've had that happen before. Not often, but it happens. It definitely happens faster than they could have possibly read the stories, but I would guess they liked the first chapter and wanted to bookmark the rest.

I saw he bookmarked a story titled "Forced Rape" with the tag saying someone is forced to RAPE a woman

PSA, Lit does not allow rape stories.

Classic.

Maybe the operator of one of the repost bots that puts stories all over the web?

Just an opinion, but. I've had this happen. Somebody copied all of my stories over a 24 hour period.
It made me very nervous, what I suspected... They were copied to repost somewhere else. Why else would they do it???

The price you pay for posting on a free site I guess.... THEFT...

I must be having a brain fart today. I followed his mistake: it should be "worn."

How do you know they were copied? There's no indication from the site that content has been copied. Favoriting a story doesn't mean it's been copied.

You get a notification whenever somebody adds your story to a list.
I recieved notifications that a reader, had added all of my stories to a list over a 4 hour period.
One after the other.
I assumed they copied them to a list, so they could copy them. No other explanation...
Not like they all live in the same category. Just added them all to their list...
To me, that seems unusual... Maybe if they copied only the Lesbian ones, or just the romance ones... But every single one....

I know someone who has multiple curated lists of stories he wants to read that are divided by kinks/fetishes/content. No copying, just bookmarking them into the appropriate list.

I also have multiple lists and often swap stories between lists as needed. Usually going from long/short for review (stories that caught my attention and I think I will like but haven't read yet) to "read for Podcast" (stories I need to read for an upcoming recording session with Grim) to "Reviewed on.." (once we know the episode is going to be released, I contact the author to let them know, then once it's released, I add it to the list.) or "Favorite" lists (for the ones that really stand out to me as something unique/interesting.)

But when I say he has lists, I mean... *lists* he's told me about some of them. He's very organized and a little obsessive about keeping things straight between "want to read a story about a specific kink"; "liked a story about a specific kink"; "hated a story about a specific kink"; and "loved a story about a specific kink". So, he has a lot of lists and he has read a fuckton of stuff and now he's making me read stuff.

My lists:

That's adding a story to a list, but it doesn't mean the story was copied.

This great lister though (who a number of us have encountered now) - if you read his Account blurb, has been a Lit fan for decades, and for some reason is rebuilding his story list archive here on Lit. He doesn't say why, and I can't see why - wouldn't it be easier just to Favourite each of us as an Author, and click on our names to get to our latest story page? I think it's very odd, but I'm not sure it's nefarious.

One of the ways to automatically scrape data (stories, tags, word length, etc), download stories and create epubs from Lit is to rely on lists from a logged on account. There are numerous sites out on the internet covering this, as well as discussions on other social media platforms.

Putting on my tech hat for a minute , I think if a scraping bot was using bookmarks or favourites, it would unbookmark after it had scraped - just like humans do after they’ve read a story they’ve temporarily favourited - so check for that happening in a systematic way

The account holder in question has declared on their home page what they're doing, but not why.
